First attempts at off camera strobes. Nikon SB-20 camera right (wishing I had a stand and umbrella) strobe setting on my TV. Another SB-20 hair light sitting on a coffe table.

Christmas pirate nutcracker shot with 3 strobes,triggered with poverty wizards: 1 Nikon SB-28, 1/8 power, green gel, fired from behind through white shower curtain material, 1 SB-28 camera right, 1/32 power, fired through 24 inch white umbrella, 1 SB-600, camera left, snooted and gel'd with red, 1/64 power. Camera settings: Nikon D50, f4.5, 1/400, 50mm prime lens. I'll be using this series as Christmas cards this year.

Another from the wine splash test, this time with droplets captured on the way in as well as the splash.
Vivitar 285HV placed about a foot away from glass at 90 camera left. Camera mounted on a tripod and used shutter release cable to trip the shutter with one hand while dropping water droplets into the glass from a turkey baster held high in the other hand. Flash triggered with a Gadget Infinty trigger.
iPhone capture rate can't keep up with the refresh rate of the display. Neat. At science museum in Seattle.

This is a shot taken with my Canon 'Nifty Fifty' and some ghetto extension tubes bought off ebay for a mere $10. Although I couldn't get the first pin very sharp I still like the symmetry and lovely bokeh the 50mm f/1.8 makes.
Shot with Canon 40D + 50mm f/1.8, 3 extension tubes and a single strobe at 1\4 power.
