We spotted this little stream yesterday as is flows down the valley in Glenveagh National Park and into Lough Veagh. If you have never been to Glenveagh and love Irish scenery you need to go there, in any weather!

Please do not use my photos without asking first, you will not be refused but asking first would be appreciated.

I was in awe the first time I saw the effect of silkiness of water flowing. The first image I purchased from a photographer was of this effect. Now I have somewhat mastered the same.

Funny how things work out. I went out to supposedly catch some wide landscapes, but when I got there, there were too many trees obstructing the view.

But I found this little stream in the forest and it looked pretty neat.

Did some tonemapping on it to really bring out the colors, but other than that, this is pretty much what was there. Got the long exposure by using a 4-stop ND filter in front of the lens.

I wish I had remembered to take my tripod, I wanted to try doing the smooth water look, but you have to keep the camera very still to do them. If you look in large size you can see the photo is not that sharp. I tried sharpening it a touch in picnik, might try in PS later.

this is 1.6 seconds hand held.
