After an overnight and early morning rain, I found many streams and fantastic little pools of water with circling foam

Close to Baring Falls, Glacier National Park, Montana

I took a couple of photos at this spot along the West Highland Way in 2011, with a wider angle lens, and despite some technical shortcomings really liked them. But due to being convinced it was in a slightly different area about a mile further east, I could never relocate the exact spot.

Ten years later - almost to the day - I finally found it again, completely by chance. However, I think the wider angle did it more justice so I must give it another go next time I have the opportunity.

This serene moment really sums up our experience in the Smokies. A mountain creek from our hike, shot in a subtle HDR.

Thank you all for your comments and faves!

Took a short walk around Gosford Forest Park earlier today. Was disappointed to see that the Drumleck River was reduced to little more than a small stream. I guess its to be expected since we have had very little rain for the past few weeks.

Staying in Northumberland with the in laws this weekend and they live within a km of the River Tweed which divides England and Scotland. This is a stream that runs into the Tweed and yes the wild garlic carpeting the ground really is that green!

The smell is amazing as you walk over the garlic and it can be used to make Wild Garlic Pesto or just fried with butter.

"Allium ursinum is widespread across most of Europe. It grows in deciduous woodlands with moist soils, preferring slightly acidic conditions. In the British Isles, colonies are frequently associated with bluebells (Hyacinthoides non-scripta), especially in ancient woodland. It is considered to be an Ancient Woodland Indicator (AWI) species."

One of the fabulous waterfalls in the Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia.

The paths on the tourist routes are usually filled with tourists so it's hard to get good shots without going out of the path. By the time I took this photo, a guard came by and told me that it was forbidden to be there. Yes I was aware it was forbidden, yes I was naughty and yes it was so worth it! ;)

On our way over to Oxbow Bend (I wanted to check the area out as a potential sunrise spot) we crossed over this river ... it caught my eye, so we pulled over beyond the bridge so I could explore for a few minutes.

Made a couple LE captures at this location. This one was composed with the Tetons off there in the distance. Like the river and the rocks there along the bank.

in Amador County, California

This was the final waterfall of the day after a chase for about 8 hours in Amador's back roads. The waterfalls we intended to see were not accessible due to poor road conditions. We came up with a new plan on the fly and discovered several new locations. This is a surprise waterfall that had a nice pool above. I regret that's where I fell in the water and also dropped my lens. There's now a kink in the barrel and almost two months later the lens seemed to fix itself the more I used it. At the end of the day I'm glad no one got hurt, I have a feeling that lens is still going to have a few more whacks in places like this. I hope you enjoy the image!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, school started and my new hobby (cycling) is taking up quite a lot of time. My family took a trip to the Trinity Alps and Mt. Shasta where I took what I consider to be my first acceptable landscape photos. There are many with similar compositions to this, I'll post more later.
