If it's Iowa in June, there must be storms.

My first attempt years ago at lightning photography. I couldn't have gotten a better show. North Texas is a good location for this type of photography.

High tide at Mornington Beach saw the navigational aids take a battering.
Sometimes it just takes one. This day chase to the Texas Panhandle didn't produce much, but I was happy with this one shot taken near Shamrock, Texas.
I was standing just under my porch one night watching this most amazing electrical storm roll on past. The lightning was jumping from cloud to cloud.

Over the last week we have had several more rounds of severe weather in Western Pennsylvania including a tornado in Butler County. These were taken on July 20, 2008 in Belle Vernon during the onset of a fast moving severe storm which wasn't even on the most severe cells to push through that day. YES the skys did look just as you are seeing it.
