Thanks Mr Wetwood for helping me out with the name.
Driving home the other day we saw this ominous cloud coming.
A few moments later the heavens opened and we had ourselves a weather bomb...
This shelf of cloud rolled over the harbour towards Stockton. Hail the size of tennis balls were an unwelcome addition about an hour earlier.
Snagged this just before the heavens opened. Thank goodness for water sealed camera and lens :)

We had a lot of wild weather today - torrential rain, flooding roads, downed poles, accidents, you name it. We had thunderstorms rolling in all day. The sky was weird - one side would be blue, with towering thunderheads, and the other side of the sky was dark and grey with lightning bolts. There were firetrucks going down my street, and all we could hear for about 30 minutes was sirens. We even had trucks from neighboring towns helping out. We lost our power for about an hour. And to make it really interesting, my smoke alarm decided to malfunction. Got a few more grey hairs than I really needed.
- www.kevin-palmer.com - I encountered this storm in Joliet, Montana, while driving to Red Lodge. It was spitting out plenty of lightning bolts, but I wasn't successful in capturing any.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - As soon as the heavy rain and hail stopped, I walked out on the dock and took this panorama of the storm clouds over the lake.
In the middle of the night a system came through Burlington with a leading edge that looked like it could almost touch the Lake.
