SOFA STORM
From cloudy skies
Fell sofas
Black and tattered
Plopping heavily
On concrete boards
Ceiling rooms below!
A rain of sofas!
Would you,
Could you,
Should you,
Won't you?
Seek cover
Amid such a
Deluge?
Where's Noah?
Help!
White taking this long exposure of storm clouds rolling through at sunset in Wilson Point, Maryland I had to shut down the camera, toss the gear and tripod back into the bags and run for cover as the downpour came across the river. Luckily made it indoors before getting drenched. The exposure needed to be about another 200 seconds, but was able to recover most of the shot with Lightroom 4. Noise is not too bad considering needed to increase the exposure by 110%.
A number of active storms passed through on the evening of 7 December 2025, although they kept their distance, and ended up being something of teasers.
Caught this little birdie getting a heavy dose of radiation on the satellite dish, seemingly the end of the rainbow.

This is the west end of an east-bound storm that passed near the Atlanta Georgia area. This photo was taken at sunset and at the time of this posting it has caused high wind, golf ball sized hail, and reports of tornados. The same storm was captured by a friend of mine as it passed over his house Here

Ever since ID4, I've expected alien invasions to look like a massive electrical storm...so when I get in the middle of a massive electrical storm, it's hard not to think... :)
It appeared we were working up to a storm late this afternoon. I enjoyed watching and photographying a very moody sky

8.7.2015. The pebble ridges of Spey Bay are some of the best in Scotland and indicate a high level of constant coastal action.
The River Spey enters the sea here and brings down with it a huge amount of debris - from sand and gravel to trees and other vegetation.
