A number of active storms passed through on the evening of 7 December 2025, although they kept their distance, and ended up being something of teasers.

A Grand Forks-to-Noyes manifest is crossing the Great Red River of the North as clouds close in from the west. I can't believe this was a couple months ago already. Time flies when you get old.
A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease.

A wild windstorm came through Memphis earlier- it was actually pretty amazing, while at the same time being a little scary.
I've never heard the wind make the roaring sounds it made today... It's the first time I have felt the same awe and respect for the wind as I feel for the ocean.
Strangely enough, I wanted to be outside in the middle of it all. So there I was, taking videos and photos while trash cans and tree limbs were dancing down the street.
I know now that I could never live in "tornado alley"- I most certainly would be the one standing on the front porch, unable to tear myself away from watching the tornado as it comes straight at me!
The National Weather Service advised to seek shelter due to this tornado warned storm. The bees listened. There wasn't a single one buzzing around. I, on the hand, stood out on the prairie like a goon taking pictures
