Rain and sunshine over my wonderful Welsh home.

Storm clouds from yesterdays storm over Bendigo

Another thunderstorm, this time much closer and nearer to home. Image grabbed from a movie taken with my Canon 6d, 28mm lens.

Geese fly past with clouds rolling in as rain is immenent

Haven't been feeling too crash hot lately which is why I haven't posted. So apologies to everyone as I felt I was catching up with all of my Flickr Family!

I actually didn't know until Shane returned home from work today that we had had the worst rain ever yesterday and that a lot of the province was flooded with Belfast suffering the worst damage.

Poor brain was in LaLa land again!

This evening, I happened to glance out of the window and saw the most awesome storm clouds so I started taking photos from the front garden then thought, if I didn't dash down to the beach to catch the sunset, I would kick myself.

It was a truly breathtaking sunset tonight and the sky kept changing constantly, one of the best photographic sessions I have had on the beach.

This was one of my first shots and I loved how the chap with his dogs were silhouetted against the sea.

I got rained on, captured a super rainbow, and chatted to other people who were taking photos.

Photographers make for the nicest people!!

I asked them to pose together... this is what I got. Felt bad for the guy dressed as Cyclops, tho. His uniform is almost all vinyl and he was sweating up a storm - ugh, bad pun, sorry - he was sweating a lot and having a hard time holding onto Storm.

UPDATE: These cosplayers were feature in the "A Compendium of Cool Comics Cosplay: July 13th (2012)" ! Yay!!!! :-D

17th July 2023 was a day of storms and sunshine, leading to some dramatic skies as seen here over Handforth with Alderley Edge and Wilmslow in the distance

The Vasco da Gama Bridge can just be seen through the passing storm

The Vasco da Gama Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge flanked by viaducts and rangeviews that spans the Tagus River in Parque das Nações in Lisbon, capital of Portugal. It is the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), with a total length of 17.2 km (10.7 mi), including 0.829 km (0.5 mi) for the main bridge, 11.5 km (7.1 mi) in viaducts, and 4.8 km (3.0 mi) in dedicated access roads. Its purpose is to alleviate the congestion on Lisbon's other bridge (25 de Abril Bridge), and to join previously unconnected motorways radiating from Lisbon.

Construction began on February 1995; the bridge was opened to traffic on 29 March 1998, just in time for Expo 98, the World's Fair that celebrated the 500th anniversary of the discovery by Vasco da Gama of the sea route from Europe to India.

Some nice clouds rolled into the area tonight. I decided to break out the Canon EOS 7D and Sigma wide angle lens for some shots.

Evening light peaking beneath a storm front. Tso Kar basin Ladakh; Jammu and Kashmir, India.

The clouds were rotating in the middle, the wind was really intense and there was some thunder in the distance but the storm didn't do much damage.

I was setting up for stars, but the cloud and the lightning storm came. Damn!

Managed to get lightning after years and years of trying. Not perfect but better than a slap in the belly with a wet fish (which I don't recommend ..... it hurts).

These are the coolest storm clouds I have seen. They were rotating in different directions and super low to the ground.
