Cloud formations over a lake in Masuria during a storm. Seeing these clouds forming we quickly headed towards the closest port and managed to belay and secure the yacht. The storm started about ten minutes after we made the decision, but it could have been much quicker.

Intense thunder & lightning storm in Chandler, AZ.

It's been an interesting couple of days dealing with the aftermath of Storm Eunice..

No power for 30 hours and a couple of trees down on our property...

At least we'll have some logs for next year....

I was out taking pictures with my daughter of a lake near Schöder (Styria) in Austria when the clouds in front of us started darkening. When the spots of rain started we gathered our gear and turned to get back to the car and was confronted with this gathering swell which seemed to be focusing it's entire wrath on the one small house.

This image was shortlisted in the top 6 in Digital Camera Magazine's Your Mission Black & White Landscapes competition from Issue 141, although it didn't make the top 3 it appeared in the iPad/Digital edition of issue 143.

An early developing thunderstorm at sunset.

This one, of the River Ouse just outside Lewes, is one that didn't make it from last year as I wasn't too sure about the composition. On reflection now I'm posting it as I like the sky which shows the forthcoming storm blowing in from the West, after a sunny morning. Fortunately the car was not too far from here as it soon went very dark and very wet. A bit like today in fact......

A few more shots of the storm damaged groynes at Dawlish Warren beach in Devon.

Was out photographing the storm yesterday that passed by to the south of us. We were planning to go camping right where the storm hit, but we didn't like the forecast that morning, so called it off. As Skywarn spotters, we need to be sensible, not only when out spotting, but for our recreation as well. Glad we did! That area got hit with 1.5" hail, heavy rain and tree limb damage. Not a good time to be out in the middle of a forest.

Another storm approaching.

Form of my primitive camping spot, a big storm is coming...

Long exposure help to create this impressive effect... only a little bit of magic in Lightroom to get this result :-)

La longue pose a permit de reveller ces formes.. juste un petit peu de magie dans Lightroom pour arriver à ce résulât.

Dramatic Crepuscular Rays through a dying storm in northern Oklahoma.

Camping in Grasslands National park last summer, we watched a distant storm wondering if we were going to "get" it... we didn't!

A storm came in from the West (those mountains are West), dumped a good bit of rain and now it's beginning to clear. You can see remnants of rain to the right and left and the edge of the big cloud at the top of the frame.

A neat bit of patterning in the clouds behind the storm that rushed through today. This is near Pilton which is close to the range just south of Toowoomba.
