Reading 2102 stomps out of Nesquehoning Tunnel amid the peak fall foliage on its final run for 2023.
I welcome criticism... please help me get better by telling me what you don't like about the pic or processing or whatever. I get value from that. This was a hard one for me to process... the best sky was well after the sun went down, but it was dark... and the light was flat and low in the canyon by then. The line of the split grad and the blend for the sky is annoyingly obvious, but I don't know what else to do about that. It was hard to get this looking the way I remember it in real life. I feel like I've made it too contrasty down in the canyon... but I wanted to bring out that beautiful detail, and anything less looked too flat. Oh well, I'm tired of messing with it, so I'm done for now. I've got a zillion other shots of this place over two evenings.
Horseshoe bend by the way, is pretty amazing! I'd heard photos can't do this place justice, and now that I've been, I agree. Even the monster Peter Lik shot I saw in Vegas doesn't convey the scale of this place. Its just a massive, massive scene in front of you. Page was pretty boring, and photographically it's two main attractions are heavily, heavily photographed. I almost didn't go, because of that, but I'm glad I did. If I ever go again, I'll spend more time in the BLM land around it, though I think I'd rather see more of Zion or head down to Toroweep instead next time.

This was a quick one and a great way to use up scraps! I did this LO about my "step cat." She's a foofy little thing who has the loudest foot-fall ever!
Journaling: All of eight pounds, Zinnie is a sweet, reserved kitty that is supremely polite and pretty. How funny it is to hear her stomping down the hall. More than once I've mistaken her for one of the big dogs!
If you notice the blurred left foot, the dove stomped with that foot and sprang off. They're very fast fliers. That's probably why people enjoy the challenge of hunting them.
