These are based on Kyle Slushey's Stomp Bot design. Color scheme for the middle one is attributed to "B-rick father" as defined in this thread.
Joined by Suntron Stomp Bot (left) and Classic Space Stomp Bot (right). These were so much fun to make I went a bit overboard. A special thanks to the Slushey One for inadvertently showing me a use for flex tubing I would've never thought of :)
This is the spot where I cut my teeth in, my old stomping grounds, Junction Street along CN's yard in Wausau WI, right next to the Kraft Cheese plant. In the summers as a kid, I would ride my bike four miles from my house to this spot just to see if any trains were working the yard. Other times my parents were gracious enough to drag me down here after dinner for a quick look. Afternoons were the best as the local switch job (usually a SD40-2 at this time) switched the yard. Later in the evening the big trains from Fon Du Lac and Mellen met here and went about their duties, giving us plenty of action to view. We watched the trains switch for about an hour (or even longer) after dinner and then went back home for the evening. Soon casual watching turned into bringing the camera down for a few pictures. It was here where I took some of my first digital pictures, which soon evolved into the addiction I have today.
If I wanted to see more trains, my parents would sometimes take me down to Stevens Point on the weekends. My dad and I would stroll around the yard looking for any train while my mom did some shopping in Stevens Point. Here, WC SW1500s were crawling around the place usually pounding the leads or working the commercial jobs. I often fantasized how one would look on the Wausau yard job. But even my young minded self knew that was a long shot; a WC SW1500 would never make it to Wausau...
Later on, my drivers license gave me freedom to drive to the Wausau yard and Stevens Point whenever I wanted. By this time Wausau's two roads trains were combined into one and the SD40-2 yard switcher was replaced with two geeps. Afternoons were still a good time to watch trains and I would usually go down to watch the yard job kick cars before heading down the old CNW line to switch 3M and the industrial park. After leaving for college in Madison, I lost track of operations in the Wausau area, focusing mostly on the CP and WSOR.
Last weekend I was informed by Dan K that a WC SW1500 was working the Wausau yard job with a GTW GP9R. This peaked my interest but I soon forgot about it as the week dragged on. This weekend, on my way back from the Iron Range, I stopped in Wausau to visit the parents. Just like old times, I headed down to the yard after dinner, hoping that CN still ran an afternoon switch job. Sure enough, as I turned down Junction Street, there was the afternoon switch shoving back into the yard with, you guessed it, WC 1571 and GTW 4620 screaming away.
Never did I ever think a WC SW1500 would make it to Wausau and here it sat in front of me nearly ten years after I fantasized it. This set certainly lived up to my childhood expectations; exhaust shooting sky high, bells clanging, locomotives screaming, ditching lights flashing, and horns blaring as they pulled down for head room past the Kraft Cheese plant.
After an hour or so of switching I left with a big smile on my face. Kinda reminded me of when I was a kid enjoying the trains with my parents or sitting in my red Oldsmobile Achieva watching the geeps kick cars around. After years of absence, it was nice to go back to my roots and pay homage to where it all began.

Ok..I'll be the first to admit it. I have been super moody lately. People have really been getting under my skin!
My wife noticed this ladybird flying around our spare bedroom and then it took a walk on the chrome frame of the bed.

Another fun contest at the Iowa State Fair held by The Wine Growers of Iowa was the Grape Stomping contest.
Several contests everyday of 3 groups raced to squish the grapes and compete for the fullest bucket!
The TRA Stomper was built to combat enemy infantry and light vehicles. It is equipped with 2 T4-Gatling guns and a pair of self defense guns to protect the relatively weak back. Although slow in turning the Stomper can run at speeds up to 120 MPH in a straight line.
I know I haven't uploaded a lot recently but this is the first in large amount of creations I have planned, so expect more uploads soon :)

Saw this on a downtown street by Granville area in Vancouver of a bagpipe player, dressed in kilt and all rigged up with horse hoofs on his feet and other paraphernalia, stomping out loud music to passers by. It was a cold evening with high winds and I sure wished I had a better camera with me. I was on my way home from a lovely birthday celebration downtown with a friend.

The rhythmic sound resonating from stomping boots going hard on the ground and back up higher to go harder the next time makes Garhwal Rifles motto come so true, 'Yudhaya Krit Nishchaya’ (Fight With Determination).
