I was enlightened by a new term on my trip to Washington... comp stomping is when you find a unique shot location/angle/composition and then someone else just walks right up next to you or right after you and takes the same shot. Now I don’t think this would apply to places like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Tetons, etc, but those places where you find something unique and go out of your way to get something that is unique to you, and then someone else steals the same shot.
The question is: Do you confront them? It’s a free country right?
I left the night of the wedding (last fridasy) on the Victoria Clipper to Seattle where I was picked up by Doug and went to a family restaurant, and then the next morning headed up to Mt. Rainier, walked some trails, saw some deer and bear, got followed by forest rangers who ASSUMED we’d go off trail for shots (we totally did). I’m not sure how it was brought up about Comp-Stomping, but it made for a good laugh, and then tried to take this same shot and I smacked him silly.

I`m a total sucker for a guy in a skirt, I mean kilt. ;) It`s not everyday that a gorgeous man walks across Broadway wearing a kilt. Well, I HAD to say something to him, didn`t I?
There's a lot of good graffiti, particularly on the pavements, around the beach suburbs of Wollongong. I'm a fan.
Try not to get under the bronze kids in the mosh pit. They're totally hardcore even though they're hollow.
That's how my shoe soles look like.

Grape stomp at the Julian, Calif. Grape Stomp wine festival. This is an example of using flash during the day time in full sun. I used a Canon 420EX, dialed back a few stops to just add some definition to the legs, which would have been too dark otherwise, in my view. The flash also gave some additional highlights to the grapes and liquid.
