Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Holywood, Co. Down

On the loop line, waiting for a path round to platform 3, in preparation for bringing the Steam Dreams charter back over the Settle and Carlisle.

All kind carriages, like Lättähattu (blue / turquoise) on third track. Steam engine on middle track. All these are on use sometimes.

Durango & Silverton snakes around Granite Point with a work train in the light of the morning.

These items are for maintenance on Steamtown's engines. the round objects are steel tires that encircle the iron wheels of a steam engine

This is one of several steam engine photographs taken by my great uncle Garnet Cross, whose father was an engine driver for Southern Railway. All the photos in this set were taken around the Southern Region, post-WW2 but some before it.

The black steam engine with snow accents was just irresistible today.
