Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is a California State Park located within the Colorado Desert of southern California, United States. The park takes its name from 18th century Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and borrego, a Spanish word for sheep. With 585,930 acres (237,120 ha) that includes one-fifth of San Diego County, it is the largest state park in California.

The park occupies eastern San Diego County and reaches into Imperial and Riverside counties, enveloping two communities: Borrego Springs, which is home to the park's headquarters, and Shelter Valley.

The park is an anchor in the Mojave and Colorado Deserts Biosphere Reserve, and adjacent to the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument.

The great bowl of the surrounding desert is surrounded by mountains, with the Vallecito Mountains to the south and the highest Santa Rosa Mountains to the north which are in the wilderness area, without paved roads and with the only year-round creeks.

The park has 500 mi (800 km) of dirt roads, 12 designated wilderness areas, and 110 mi (180 km) of hiking trails. Park information and maps are available in the visitor center. The park has Wi-Fi access.

The park is around a two-hour drive northeast from San Diego, southeast from Riverside or Irvine, and south from Palm Springs. Access on the east-Coachella Valley side is via County Route S22 and State Route 78. Access on the west-Pacific Ocean side is via California County Routes S79. S67 provides access through the high and forested Laguna Mountains, such as in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. These highways climb from the coast to 2,400 ft (730 m) above sea level, then descend 2,000 ft (610 m) down into the Borrego Valley in the center of the park.

A popular site to hike to near the visitor center is Hellhole Palms, a grove of California fan palms in Hellhole Canyon near Maidenhair Falls.

The Texas State Capitol, anchoring 22-acres of landscaped grounds originally designated as Capitol Square in 1839, was designed in 1881 by architect Elijah E. Myers, and was constructed from 1882 to 1888 under the direction of civil engineer Reuben Lindsay Walker. Build in Italian Renaissance Revival style.

The Texas Capitol, built in 1888, is sited on one of Austin's highest point covering approximately 22 acres of landscaped lawns dotted by 17 monument. The grounds anchor the northern periphery of the downtown commercial district and the southern periphery of the University of Texas at Austin campus. A 1995-96 renovation of the historic Grounds returned the park-like setting to its 1888-1915 appearance.

The Mount Coolidge Lookout and Fire Tower was one of the last projects completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s. Built of local stone, the tower rests atop a 6,023-foot peak and is still used today as a fire lookout and dispatch center. As the highest point in central Custer State Park, it offers breathtaking 360-degree views from the top of the fire tower. On a clear day, you can see the Badlands nearly 60 miles away in the east.

You can find Mount Coolidge 3 miles south of 16A on your way to Blue Bell Lodge. The turnoff is located on SD 87 as Wildlife Loop turns back to the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway.

The State Theater in Ithaca, NY. From the outside it looks like a very old and sketchy movie theater. The mixture of styles inside is bizarre enough to be beautiful. Some of the best concerts I ever went to happened here.

The State Bank of Northfield was build in 1911 in the Egyptian style by architect Harry W. Jones. It is located near a more famous bank, The First National Bank of Northfield which was nearly robbed by the outlaw Jesse James in 1876. Armed townspeople prevented the robbery, but not before two people were killed. This famous event in Minnesota history has been portrayed in a number of stories and films.

Northfield is a town in Southern Minnesota, located along the Cannon River. The town was founded in 1855 and has been a predominantly agricultural area. It is home to Carleton and St. Olaf colleges, as well as a Malt-O-Meal factory, which has built the total population to around 17,000.
