This is my finished Artistic Vision Statement for the wishBig ecamp hosted by Mindy of the Wishstudio.
An SOP (Statement of Purpose) is a long essay required by universities abroad and nowadays some of the Indian universities during the application process. As the full form of SOP reveals, a Statement of Purpose is an essay stating the purpose of applying to a particular course in a particular university. This essay consists of a gist of who you are, who you want to become, and how ready you are to pursue a certain course in an institution.

A favourite find at thrift stores would have to be abandoned zippers. These can be turned into amazing statement necklaces. The zipper pulls become substitute beads and the zipper bodies can be turned into feminine bows.

Artist Statement
“Before the Intervention / After the Instruction” examines the moment when the self is altered—not destroyed, but redirected.
The two heads represent parallel states of being. One retains the language of classical human form—smooth, idealized, and inwardly oriented. The other bears the marks of modification: color, apparatus, and tension introduced from the outside.
I am interested in how identity is shaped by systems that promise improvement. The red head is not violent; it is efficient. The pale head is not innocent; it is simply untouched. Neither is presented as superior.
This work lives in the space between agency and influence. It asks where transformation begins, and whether consent is always visible at the moment it occurs.
My practice often explores the aesthetics of control—how restraint, refinement, and progress can appear seductive. Here, transformation is quiet, clinical, and irreversible.

This guy is totally sporting a faux fur coat in high 80-low 90 degree weather. That takes a lot of strength and self-awareness to be able to make that statement.
