Press statement on the unfair and unwarranted accusations leveled against Ethiopia
It is indeed regrettable to note these days that there appears to be a concerted campaign to exert undue pressure against Ethiopia. In spite of the relentless efforts by the Ethiopian government to engage positively and constructively on issues and concerns raised by partners, it is being given a cold shoulder. That is why the Ethiopian government is being forced to question the motives of some of the partners, particularly given the public statements and pronouncements they made recently. They seem to be short of showing a genuine desire to understand and help Ethiopia overcome its current challenges; rather, they would only be counterproductive and exacerbating situations. Those statements and pronouncements as well as the fake news and speculations propagated through the media speak volumes in this regard. It is in this relation that the Ethiopian government finds it absolutely necessary, once again, to make its position unequivocally clear on some of the most important and salient issues.
1. On the Humanitarian response in the Tigray region
The Ethiopian government has not only demonstrated its willingness and commitment to work with the international community to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Tigray, but it has also provided full and unhindered access for humanitarian actors to operate in all parts of the region.

On 13 November 2024, the UN Resident Coordinator in Thailand convened 59 University Presidents and their representatives under the Sustainable University Network (SUN Network) and Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT), to sign the Statement of Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand witnessed the signing ceremony and expressed support for the commitment made to enhance greening higher education and the outcomes of the Summit of the Future, as well as to promote the role of young people as active agents of change.
Emphasising the significant milestone made by 59 signatory universities across Thailand, the panel discussion on 'Universities for Tomorrow: Greening Higher Education' further noted the crucial role of universities in advancing the SDGs, partnerships for impact, along with the recognition of youth leadership in addressing sustainable development challenges.
The event was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Global Compact Network Thailand, and university-level Model UN clubs.

1. My sustained investigation statement is the Negative Effects of Humans on their Environment.
2. The materials used were my camera, LightRoom, and temporary overpass.
3. I interpreted my Sustained Investigation in this photo because this temporary overpass is an example of a negative effect of humans on their environment.
4. The process featured in this photo is Leading Lines. I took this photo so your eyes would follow the path.

I have not a clue who this is or what message he is trying to convey. The picture was found in my great-grandfather's (Louis Ross Medaglia) photo collection, so presumably it had some meaning or relevance to him.

Artists' Statement: "Our team wanted to represent the separation between different people in the world throughout history. The wall that separates them has been built upon ancient narratives, media, and personal biases. The wall, however, is not fully intact, but rather has openings where one is able to see the other side. The hands represent the people who are trying to reach out to one another, put aside their historical narratives, and work towards a better future, together.
Our idea for the art piece came out of a meditation that was led by Carmit. As she threw out different words, we collected them and found a way to put them into one image. We each had symbols that we wanted to use, and although the main idea for our project evolved, these symbols stayed intact.
The process was very stressful for us. The first two or three days we worked on the project, we got very little done. We felt very pressured and it was difficult to figure out how to move forward from there. Once we actually got started, however, the process became really peaceful. We enjoyed every moment we spent working! It was fun, even with the bumps along the way.
The process of making the project was difficult. Each time we started to have an idea, it had to be changed in one way or another. Although we are so different from one another, and although we come from different places, we succeeded in creating a united idea from three different minds!"
