Artist statement:
“Cotton: the touch, the feel, the fabric of our lives.”
How many times have you heard that jingle or seen that commercial? And how many times have you actually been convinced that it’s really the fabric of your life? The answer for me is, never.
The fabric of my life is my family. They are the structure of my existence and the complete framework of my being. We are stitched at the seam, tied by every thread and pinned at each piece.
This body of work is an exploration of an 18th century photographic process called Cyanotype. Each photograph was created with a light sensitive chemical formula applied to cloth and exposed by sunlight.
By deviating from the original Cyanotype method, this work delves further into the possibilities offered in the photographs. Manipulation of the chemical reaction resulted in a different color and intensified tonality ranges, having much to offer in a way of portraiture.
The subjects of each photograph are those of my family; the fabric of my life.
This body of work is dedicated to my family.
Wandering around the city centre on St Patrick’s day, you’ll meet many diverse fun fashion statements to say the least… classy greens, sassy golds and demure nods to patriotism as people roll out in their Sunday best, while others parade full-on costumes ranging from the adventurous to the really out there ! (And that’s not including the official parade!)
This Paddy’s Day, we’re celebrating street fashion on a day of eclectic Irish fashion!
The National Leprechaun Museum and the SCOOP foundation joined up to give everyone (Dubliners and visitors) the chance to show off their Paddy’s Day Finery to the whole world, and set up a picture-book-photo-booth for them to get snapped in!
Entrants got snapped by our photographers on our set and then posted online… winners will be voted on by a worldwide audience! (There’s a range of categories and spot prizes to be won!)

The National Leprechaun Museum opened its doors in March 2010. Since then it has welcomed in excess of 150k visitors through its doors to explore Irish folklore, mythology and storytelling through our unique interactive experience.

The SCOOP (Support Children Out Of Poverty / Stop Corruption On Our Planet) is a young, innovative and hard working organisation working and creating out of Dublin City, Ireland.
They endeavour to raise funds through their own events and unique ideas, in order to build schools and opportunities for children and young people caught in the poverty trap in the some of the poorest and more corrupt parts of the world.
They also wish to create a different type of charity in Ireland; one that utilises young and talented people to keep creating new and positive methods to achieve their many goals and aspirations.

Walking to my gate at SFO, this fashion statement couldn't help but catch my eye. Fumbling with the iPhone camera and trying to be discreet, I fired off a few shots. Was able to salvage this one through some sliding.

Finally there is an official statement about austrian and swiss flickr users who are currently affected by the changes which affect all users with a yahoo.de based Yahoo! ID (he forgot Lichtenstein). You have to go to page 26 of a non official discussion thread to find this.
Here is the german translation:
"Benutzer aus Österreich und aus der Schweiz brauchen keinen deutschen Yahoo! account zu verwenden (und sie können trotzdem das deutschsprachige Benutzerinterface benutzen - die Wahl der Sprache ist unabhängig von der Gerichtsbarkeit). Es ist möglich, bei yahoo.com einen account anzulegen und das Land auf Schweiz oder Österreich zu setzen und danach das ID transfer tool zu verwenden, um auf den neuen account zu wechseln."
I don't understand why it is necessary to create a new Yahoo! account. So far there are no austrian or swiss Yahoo! accounts. You can create a yahoo.de account and enter "Germany" or "Switzerland" as your country though. Shouldn't this be enough to enable the safety filter option for such users? Yesterday I sent a review request for my account because of this issue.

Beverley abounds in fine building, though one needs to look up to appreciate many of them. This is the attractive front-facing gable of the Corn Exchange, opened in 1886. A department store, Browns, now occupies the building, which is located in Saturday Market. The Grade II listed Corn Exchange was converted into a cinema - the Picture Playhouse - in 1911 but it closed in 1963. The cinema reopened in 1982 but shut again 21 years later.
This is my artist statement. I know that it may change over time, artist statements often do. But I feel that no matter what this will always remain true and it is from the heart.
All of the treasures in this striking necklace came to me from a good friend! I thought they came together beautifully to make a romantic nighttime garden scene.
The main bead embroidered pendant measures 3" across and is suspended from a silver plate chain. The total length of the necklace is 18". The focal piece is a fused dichroic glass cabochon surrounded by a peyote stitch bezel. Other beads include blue goldstone, sodalite rondelles, pressed glass from Czechoslovakia and lovely faceted blue crystals. The pendant is expertly backed in reclaimed purple Ultrasuede. This piece is guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind (ooak).
