Startrail image taken on 5D MKII
Llanbister Mid Wales
Approx 150 x 30 second shots merged in Photoshop
The tree & grass are lit up more than the rest of the hills due to a car headlight that was captured in one of the frames.
I've been a bit quiet photographically of late, and thought that it was about time I changed that.
It was such a beautiful crisp and clear night tonight that I decided to give some startrail photography again.
I was feeling lazy tonight, and couldn't be bothered with fiddling with custom white balance to get rid of the orange glare in the sky, so thought I'd try B&W for a change.
This consists of 71x individual 60 second images merged using the startrails stacking software.
Exposure was 60 secs @ f/5.6 at ISO800 shot on a Canon EOS 40D with a Sigma 10-20mm lens set at 10mm.
I tried to add a bit of detail to the house and foreground by using my Speedlite 550EX on the last shot but overcooked it somewhat and just ended up with loads of flare as condensation was just starting to form on the UV filter.
Hope you like it.
Image generated using 51 shots of 3 mins exposure shot over night. If you have a canon camera you must try Magic Lantern, you don't need to buy intervalometer. Besides intervalometer, magic lantern adds many more feature like trap focus, upto 9 AEB shots for HDR etc.

Basic star trail output using www.startrails.de appliction.
Problem: Obviously bumped the tripod numerous times.
My 2nd attempt trailing the stars. Started at about 10:13pm and ended at 12:02am which drains all the power of battery. Total of 202 jpegs made to create this photo.
