This Church of Ireland building always looks great under moonlight. I'd gone out because the aurora stats were favourable but nothing showed up. Plan B was to photograph the Church at night.
I used a Nikon Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8 G ED lens via an adapter for this. Has a great reputation as a night photography lens and I’ve always enjoyed using it.
Camino al centro de esqui La Araucarias, nos encontramos con este milenario árbol a un costado del camino, ideal para fotografiar con un fondo de estrellas antes que llegue la niebla.

Taken from Oxfordshire, UK with a Canon 1100D with 18-55mm lens + unbranded fish eye wide angle attachment
ISO-800 30 second exposures at f/4. Camera was attached to mains power, and I used hand warmers, socks and a hair dryer to keep the lens free of frost (the rest of the equipment was totally covered in ice by the time I'd finished because it was -7C!) Branches light-painted courtesy of a neighbour's security light.
Shot on continuous for 6 hours then images stacked using StarStaX. Stacked image processed in Adobe Lightroom and Fast Stone Image Viewer
Timelapse video made using StarTrails.de and it can be viewed here: youtu.be/TvE8YS5Wxck
Decided I'd try to shoot a good panorama star trail and throw a sunrise in as well!
What do you think?
How? OK!
Canon 5DMkII w/ 17-40mm f/4L

The Startrail:
6 (portrait) images wide, roughly 41 x 30 second exposure each (250 odd images)
The Sunrise:
6 (portrait) images wide, x 2 high x 3 exposures of each (36 total)
All stitched in PTGui and the sunrise merged in Photomatix Pro.
Lots of post editing in Photoshop (about 4 hours)
On the morning before traveling to Theth, the national park i had the opportunitity to shoot the beautiful mosque of Shkodra, with the Cathedral in the backdrop. The sky was pretty dull and therefore i used a single shot of the milky way from the same night and created this Vortex effect with them. Later on i blended all the shots together in order to create a very interesting sky
I used approximately 200 star trail shots to create this sky, and also 4 other shots to blend the foreground in photoshop... It took me almost 12 hours just to stitch the shots of the stars and i ended up having a file of 68 gb, and than the rest was a game of selection and creativity
Hope you like it

Lo so, è mossa, è brutta, ha la grana, ma dal tramonto all'alba mostra stelle, scie di aerei e lanterne… il mio cielo, la mia notte.

I tend to take photos of this same tree in different conditions. Take a look at the others.
This is a compilation of 75 photos of 30s exposures during about 45minutes.
Learning more new skills and this time it was Star trails. 167 pictures of 30 sec duration. I enjoyed doing this so I will have another go soon.
My first attempt at star trails and maybe not one for the pixel peepers among you. Taken with the 10-22mm and combined from 72 shots of 30 seconds each. Wide angle leads to distortion on the building as well. Unfortunately starry nights are the coldest! This building is lit up from street lights on the edge of the village. Thus lots of light pollution and white balance all over the place. I used the free star trails software on line. It was relatively quick and easy to use. Hopefully next time, it will turn out a bit better. The house central heating has also left a plume of vapour - don't worry, the house is not on fire. Each shot was ISO 1250 and F7.1 to get the exposure balanced as far as possible.
About 25 minutes of exposure right after the sunset as you can see from the orange clouds on the horizon.
In the middle of the frame it's easily recognizable the Gran Paradiso south face
120 exposures, each one zoomed in a tiny amount and exposure decreased to create groovey spiral effect…?! Foreground landscape added in PS all shot from same location.
