Stack: Meet Ron Conway, Jonathan Siegel, Edith Yeung, Gina Tomlinson (CTO of San Francisco), Daniel Lai (CIO of Hong Kong)

Stack is an event series that provides real insight into the most emerging areas of cloud computing. Learn best practices for IAAS, PAAS and SAAS. Connect with top investors and cloud experts who have done it and been there. Learn how they did it. Discover the fundamental concepts that are key to building a world-class server stack.

Stack Rock Fort, near Milford Haven.

Built on an island 800 yards off the coast as part of Pembrokeshire's Victorian naval defences.

Put up for sale in 2005 at £150000.00.

A teaser for my Polaroids, which I'll get onto Flickr in a better manner... eventually. (It turns out work doesn't have a scanner, not in our office anyway, and I don't know how to find a cheap Mac OS X compatible one.)

A view of the Stacks of Duncansby. In the background just to the left can be seen the lighthouse at Duncansby Head whilst further out in the centre is the lighthouse on Muckle Skerry

“‘Stack’ is about the integration of geology and yoga into a figurative form. The landscape acts as a metaphor for the duality of fragility and strength in humans, while yoga represents the potential union within humans.”

We just announced the list of artists for our newest exhibition, STACKS! blog.lightgreyartlab.com/2014/04/stacks-artists-announced.html

It's hard to put into words just how many fireworks go off on new years eve in Reykjavik.

I tried anyway. I guess this is another attempt at conveying that feeling.

12 images, taken using the trusty GorillaPod, stacked in Photoshop to show maximum light levels and highlight just how many fireworks were hitting the city skyline.

Stacks (decks?) of card chains going into storage.

Turf stacks, drying on a Mayo bog with storm clouds rolling in.

A stack of rocks on green felt

I just love this quilt... it's made from my favourite line of fabrics, Moda 1974, and I got the scraps from Dana of Old Barn Co. I was inspired by a quilt Tula Pink made, and I named it Stacked because my husband thought they look like tall stacks of books :)

Blogged.

It's the first time I see a yellow fly actually! This (huuge) one seemed to be injured since its right wing looked a bit damaged. That's why I tried to take several shots to stack in Zerene Stacker!

Unfortunately I couldn't get closer because of my home made stuff :(

5 shots stacked in Zerene Stacker.

...Yeah Ryan's stack didn't work out so well

Something creative for all of you....:)

Serra da Estrela. Portugal. 2018

Focus Stacked from 33 images these cones are tiny, and were found on the same tree as the catkins pictured elsewhere in my photostream. A house plant has been used to give a green background

It seems there are thousands of generic photos of the Cliffs of Moher on-line but despite the interest of tourists, not many that feature the birds. I over-heard several visitors asking guides if there were puffins on the cliffs to be told "there could be"... but mostly there were guillemots in huge numbers. People do not know that puffins are in fact quite small and even with my cheap travel telephoto zoom I struggled to find any at 600mm 35mm equiv. None the less, I did, but not on the stack! Not many, though. Too much competition, I expect. Look in the accompanying photo for the bright orange feet and bills to the left of the green area... Cropped further 13/1

books etcetera boast that they've got 40,000 secondhand titles in their store. Now you know how they all fit. they've got tottering towers of books everywhere, i've never seen anythig like it.

Picture #1 from a series of shots I took during a poker tournament here in Ottawa, where I was looking for fun & interesting shots of the chips & hands.

It was my first night of really using my new DSLR camera (having made the switch from a point & shoot :) Unfortunately I knew very little of all the settings, so I had to do a bunch of learning in Lightroom to adjust the light & tone settings!! :D

Nikon D90

18 - 200 VRII

A test using Helicon Focus using the default DMap settings with 17 shots @ f8 just to keep the entire lens in focus. Compared to single shot @ f32.

One might think that the focus stacking doesn't present much of an advantage. If you look closely, the single shot suffers from CA (see the detail of the "Z 40mm 1:2..." text) due to the effects of diffraction. Make no mistake, the 105Z is a fabulous lens but it cannot escape physics.
