This monarch wing was shot using a reversed 28mm lens mounted on the end of an 105mm macro, and with 56mm of extensions tubes between the macro and the camera body. It was lit by dual strobes.
This is a focus-stack of ten pictures, combined in Photoshop.
A set of 3 stacking "wave" rings. All in 18k gold. One white, one yellow and one rose.
The yellow gold ring is set with 8 x 6pt diamonds.

This one was a hard one for me. ( That is why im a bit late :s )
But I finally decided to play more on the colors then on the double meaning the theme could have this week.

Westbound stack train KATCI crawls up to Chaney Jct. to hand throw the crossovers and meet an eastbound KCS freight at the junction. The train is passing the famous Mahatma rice plant downtown.

Taken with 75-300 at about 100mm and Helios 58 reversed in front. Build in flash fired.
I used a technique I learned ages ago where you mount one lens on the camera, then mount another lens face-to-face on the end of the first lens. In this instance, I used my Canon 50mm f/1.8 on the camera. I have an old threaded metal lens shade that I screwed on the first lens. Then, I screwed the face of an old Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 into the open portion of the shade. About the only way you can focus this is to lean toward or away from your subject until it's in focus. If you have two lenses, it's an easy way to get in close. I suppose you could even hand-hold one lens in front of the other, kind of like a magnifying glass. The DOF is super short.
Here's another sea stack we saw, this time to the west of the lighthouse at the Butt of Lewis. If you view this photo large, hopefully you can appreciate the fantastic colours of the sea around this coastline.

So this is what happens when a bug moves even slightly when you are doing a focus stack... As you can see his body is fine, but his head was looking around and antenna were moving, so slightly that I didn't even realize it until I combined the pictures and go this result :(.
