Tonight´s dinner consisting of egg noodles, veggies, garlic, chili and ten veggie springrolls.
I eat like a mineworker.
But I ain´t.
For lunch, we went to Oasis, a nominally Chinese restaurant in Colonia. We had fried lumpia, sashimi, sausage and something called java rice (which was really just fried rice).
Also available were: burgers, udon, ramen and lo mein.
Pretty good stuff. Normally I would stay away from sashimi served in a Chinese restaurant, but you can't seem to go wrong with raw fish anywhere on Yap.

One of my favorite restaurant in town is a little hole in the wall Thai place. I had the night to myself, so I decided to treat myself to some take out. The fresh spring rolls are one of my favorite things on the menu.
Lumpiang Shanghai, more commonly known as Spring Rolls, are deep-fried “dumpling logs.” Made of ground pork, shrimp, and veggies, the resulting mixture is put on Lumpia wrapper. It’s then rolled and fried until crisp and golden brown. Commonly served with sweet and sour sauce for dipping, Lumpiang Shanghai is popular as finger food, or with rice. A mix of savory flavors and crisp textures, it’s one dish that’s always welcome, whether it be a fancy party, a fiesta, or an everyday meal. This is one Binalot (wrapped) dish that’s sure to please.

Lilian and David's Cumin-Spiced Lamb Spring Rolls frying in hot oil!
David said that Lilian's dad slipped them a pack of ground cumin (孜然or 阿拉伯茴香) for his lamb. The cumin definitely added a nice spicy kick to the lamb!
