It may have been the babbling water, it may have been the solemn silence, it may have been the raven's call ... there was a certain something seductive about this scene on a sideroad, off the beaten path, on the Bruce.

The Spring Creek Waterfall in the Fall...this is located on the Putnam County / Overton County line in Middle Tennessee. The falls is much more visible from above since a tornado went through this area several months ago and blew down most of the trees.

I intentionally photographed the waterfall looking directly at the sun to capture the lens flare seen through the middle of the photo.

This is a small but pretty waterfall on Spring Creek. It's a short easy walk from a very small parking area to this waterfall. It is a popular location so it wasn't easy to photograph without people getting in my shots. But, everyone was pretty courteous and we all took turns.

This is a new species for me. I didn't even notice it had white antennae until I got an id from the experts. I'm just glad it stayed put long enough to get a shot.

Went on an "adventure" with my son yesterday and found this waterfall on Spring Creek which is on the Putnam County / Overton County line. Had a blast walking around in the water, taking lots of photos, and spending time with Jacob Ryan!!

Water gushes through the baffles of a fish ladder on Spring Creek, Idaho. Droplets freeze into icy shelves forming a delicate contrast to the massive concrete walls. This structure helps Bonneville cutthroat trout navigate upstream from Bear Lake, Idaho to spawn.

That sucker was big, and fast. I was only able to get one shot before it was gone. At least it turned out to be a new species. No common name and not much info on it.

This is a male redhead duck, Spring Creek, Bear Lake Valley, Idaho. He seemed to be playing with the current as he faced upstream and managed to stay almost stationary.

This guy was not cooperating, running all over a large rock. I finally got a side shot before it tumbled over the edge and off into the grass and out of sight. First adult of this species I've photographed, had seen one nymph prior. Maybe because they are a nocturnal stink bug. Love the name, Elf Shoe. Look at that one black toe on the end of each foot.

I've never been this far down the creek before. There are a lot of nice little secrets here. I will return soon, I hope.

The family and I ventured out to Spring Creek again yesterday. This is the stairs that takes you down to the water level about 75-100 yards down stream from the big waterfall. It sure makes getting down to the water a lot easier than it would otherwise be...

I'd had several kinds of metallic wood-boring beetles but never a bright yellow & black one. Found it on dried lemon beebalm. It was nice enough to stay put for a little photo session. So many insect species, this will never get boring. This one has no common name & I could not find much info on it.

Faith Brings Peace and Joy

Romans 5: 4 And patience develops strength

of character in us and helps us trust God more

each time we use it until finally our hope and

faith are strong and steady.

5. Then hope does not disappoint, because the

love of God has been poured out within our hearts

through the Holy Spirit whom He has given to us.

Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the year that has passed and the many blessings You have showered upon us in this time. We beg your pardon in our many failings and trespasses and we pray to make the coming year a more fruitful one. We also thank You for every trial, test of time, and sorrow that has brought us stronger in faith and trust in You. We earnestly pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit and we call upon our Lord Jesus Christ for His intercessions, His guidance and His light to shine on our pathway. In Jesus name... Amen

Both look well feed one of the Bullfrogs has an injury on the nose, these two are always together and they a bit darker in color than other American Bullfrogs but Bullfrogs can be totally brown in color. This is the third year I seen them there they doing well responsible for lots of offspring.
