Summer dreaming.....
This is Spring Creek as it is still swollen with snow melt from high in Gunnison National Forest.

The 2018 the Spring Creek Wildfire decimated 108,000 acres in southern Colorado between Fort Garland and La Vita. You can see the charred trees on the mountains above the ranch which was spared.
Spring Creek cascades through a rocky stretch just before meeting the South Fork of the Yuba River. Water is a precious element in California, made especially so by our recent drought conditions. Creeks like the one above, have been reduced to a mere trickle, if they haven't completely dried up. It's becoming more common to see wild animals enter the populated areas in search of water.

Spring Creek cascades through a rocky section before running into the South Yuba just downstream of the historic bridge at Edwards Crossing. This dynamic little creek is typical of the many creeks that are part of the Yuba River drainage system. This system is the life blood of Nevada County. It provides a spiritual sustenance to we locals that serves us during good times and hard times alike. No matter what, there is always the river.

This is a replica of the original Canmore Opera House which was built in 1898 with logs cut from the slopes of Ha-Ling. The original is now in Calgary''s Heritage Park.
The smoke is finally clearing so that we can see Canmore's iconic Three Sisters in the background.

The dog is a Blue Heeler, more intent in splashing in the shallows than climbing back into the canoe. . . at sunset on Spring Creek in the Missouri Ozarks. . .
It was late in the day! We were fishing the West Fork of the Kickapoo River in Southwest Wisconsin when I made this image.
It was our first time out after a long cold, Covid winter. Bugs were in the air, fish were eating, and all was right with this corner of the world.

Lucy was out in the pond looking frogs. The egret was sitting in the midst of lower branches of a shrub it remained there for over an hour.
My husband and I drove to Canmore to see my 91-year-old aunt who is moving to Ottawa to be closer to her three sons. It was a bittersweet goodbye.

Originally known as Chambers Spring Creek Grave Ground, this cemetery is among the oldest active cemeteries in Peel. Early trustees of the cemetery were Warren Clarkson and Nathaniel Hemphill. This cemetery has always been privately maintained and independent of any church affiliation or government aid. Many of the founding families from Clarkson and the surrounding area, including members of the Bradley, Clarkson, Gable, Greeniaus, Marlatt, Merigold, Shook, Oliphant, Oughtred, Peer and Shook families, are buried within this historic cemetery.
