A Photo from Day 2 of a 10 day 9 night "Railway Tour" of 13 Museums and Heritage Railway Locations. The Main Aim was to get as many Steam Train Journeys to add to my Steam Powered Journeys Spreadsheet which is my modern "Trainspotting" record.
At Didcot Railway Centre, their "Diamond Jubilee Gala" had 4 steam locomotives with 2 each on the "Main Demonstration Line" and the shorter "Branch Line." 2 diesels powered some early morning and evening trains.
Several Steam Locomotives were also on Static Display and it was possible to go round the sheds.
Here, 1340 Trojan an 0-4-0ST Loco is waiting at the bottom of the Coal Incline and will shortly push a coal truck up the incline.
And 2999 - "Lady of Legend", a 4-6-0 built in between 2009 and 2019 is in steam and is returning to the shed area after working on the main Demonstration Line.
2999 was built in such a way that it can be a 4-4-2 or as here a 4-6-0 version of the GWR 2900 "Saint" Class, None of which survived into Preservation. Some parts from Hall or Manor Locomotives were used in the build to an original Churchward design.

You know that feeling when you've created a spreadsheet, then spent hours entering data from a paper copy? Then, after a few hours, you think "that's not right". So you investigate, and find out that you haven't been given all the sheets? So now, you need to go through every month, checking if there is missing data?
And you lose the will to live?
That.
I needed a break from the computer. I had a cream cake for afternoon tea break, but needed to wash up first.
I've got another task now, so tomorrow will be yet more data entry. Oh, and there is no elegant way to eat a chocolate eclair!

The Swanage Railway runs trains from Norden via Corfe Castle, another station and a halt to Swanage Station or the other way round so there is some very pleasant scenery to look at and photograph when travelling along the line.
There is ample car parking at the Norden end of the line so I started there.
The day I went during the sort of main summer holidays, there were 2 trains running both hauled by Steam Locomotives.
Here, I have just alighted from a train from Norden to Swanage and have walked along the platform to take some Photos of the run round by 31806, a Maunsell designed SR U Class 2-6-0 loco.

In this photo below, you can see Tane, my once-bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed previous assistant. After a rather strenuous and stressful China leg to the tour and in the throes of young love, he has decided to head over to the USA to pursue his college sweetheart, Ash. His heart beats away like a jungle drum inside of his smooth dolphin chest, and soon that chest will flutter across the mixed metaphor of the Atlantic Sea to rejoin his paramour. Thusly, I have lost an assistant and New Zealand has lost a national hero.
So now, I needs me a new one. What's involved? Well, first let's talk about what you get, then talk about what you gotta do.
First, you'll travel around the world with us and everything is included from air travel to board. For example, across our tours in USA, Europe, and Asia, we stayed in over 40 different Ritz-Carltons and other partner hotels, so we're not exactly slummin' it. You get to take photos alongside the team, learn a lot about the visual arts, and see some of the most amazing things in the world. You'll have adventures that are indescribable. You'll also have the freedom to create a great many things within the organization from photos to books to film and more. You'll be on the cutting edge of tech, media, and social media. You'll also end up going down many philosophical rabbit holes if you so choose.
Now, what is required from you? Well, mostly a willingness to do everything from the most awesome to the most mundane. Remember, anything I ask you to do is something that I have been willing to do myself for the past ten years. So, if it's not below me, it's not below you. We're a small company (about eight people), so everyone does a little bit of everything.
Remember, it's my goal to be the dumbest person at the company. So I hope you're clever and enthusiastic. I find that gets you through most anything.
To name a few of these tasks, in no particular order: Organizing photos and videos, backing up data, editing video, charging camera batteries, sending videos to our editors in Brisbane and Scotland, carrying a lot of stuff, shooting video while carrying a super-heavy gimbal, meeting with our art collectors, getting me smoothies or wine depending on the time of day, writing newsletters, copy/pasting blog posts, creating eBooks from existing assets, getting supplies for the studio, driving my kids around when we need another set of wheels, keeping meticulous track of social stats in spreadsheets, getting us sandwiches on those 14-hour days, cleaning our Burning Man RV, procurement, drone piloting and prep, graphic design for social media reports for partners and other marketing needs, Lightroom basics, Photoshop basics, laughing at my jokes, writing skills that are way above average, making cocktails at our studio bar for soirees, driving us around on photo shoots throughout New Zealand and the world, hiking long distances while carrying a lot of shit, managing our online store at Store.StuckInCustoms.com , keeping up with the latest trends in social media, and generally anticipating what needs to be done before we ask for it.
You'll also need to live here in Queenstown or Arrowtown, New Zealand. While I am in studio here, you'll come in every day during normal working hours and you have your own little office with a window view of beautiful New Zealand (that is blocked by a huge bush).
It's certainly a rather stringent set of requirements, I realize... sort of like Another Trey. A clone. A clone of my own... willing to work ridiculous hours while chipping away at short-term and long-term goals.
Interested? Then send us some goodies at business@stuckincustoms.com ! We expect a large volume of applicants, so don't feel bad if you don't get a personal response from me or the team. We'll definitely look at every application, though! Thank you for your time... and if it doesn't work out with us, I hope it works out for you in one way or another! -Trey

Cloning Babies, Ukraine Labs, And Epstein: How Western Media Ignores Epstein Files Revelations
Hidden within the Epstein files are emails pointing to experimental bioresearch in Ukraine, including references to cloning and genetic engineering. These exchanges align with Epstein’s documented interest in eugenics and intersect with longstanding controversies over US-linked biolabs in Ukraine.

Epstein librairy - www.justice.gov/epstein
Among the many revelations brought by the Epstein files recently released, one has been overlooked, if not almost entirely ignored. Buried amid many sordid sex-trafficking messages, there is a set of references to biological laboratories in Ukraine. They point to experimental research of an ethically extreme nature, tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s long-documented obsessions with eugenics, genetics, and human engineering. The near-total silence of the Western press on this is mind-blowing, to say the least.
The relevant material appears in email exchanges released by the US Department of Justice. In one message (file EFTA02625486) dated August 30, 2018, Epstein’s correspondent, Bryan Bishop, writes of “proceeding with more mouse testing at my Ukraine lab (surgeries/microinjection)”.
In another message from August 5, 2018 (file (EFTA01003966), the same individual outlines a project whose ambition is, simply put, staggering: “This gets us out of our self-funded ‘garage biology’ phase to the first live birth of a human designer baby, and possibly a human clone, within 5 years. Once we reach the first birth, everything changes and the world will never be the same again, much less the future of the human species”. The same exchange mentions the “use of funds” spreadsheet for a “designer baby and human cloning company”.
The author of these messages, Bryan Bishop, is a Bitcoin developer, self-described transhumanist, and biohacker with a public footprint in cryptocurrency and radical life-extension circles. His interest in funding cloning research has long been known, but the Epstein angle is only coming to light now. In fact, a forgotten 2019 piece by Antonio Regalado (senior editor for biomedicine for MIT Technology Review) details how Bishop was funding “a Ukrainian lab” to conduct experiments on mice connected to his “designer baby” project.
Bishop here is not a marginal crank emailing a nobody. He was actively seeking funding from Epstein, whose power, influence and financial reach was enormous, as we are increasingly learning. The correspondence suggests logistical planning rather than idle speculation, with Ukraine explicitly named as a site for laboratory work. Anyone can search for these messages in the Epstein Library.
Sputnik covered the exchange, explicitly mentioning Bryan Bishop, Ukraine, and the laboratory reference. By contrast, the Telegraph reported on the same email chain but, interestingly enough, carefully omitted any reference to Ukraine, reframing the story as a general tale of Epstein’s interest in eugenics and “designer babies”.
One may recall that Epstein’s fascination with genetics and selective breeding was already documented years ago. In 2019, before these emails were public, the Guardian reported that Epstein hoped to “seed the human race” with his DNA, allegedly planning to impregnate women at his infamous Zorro ranch in New Mexico ranch, where underage sexual abuse and human trafficking had been denounced. The New York Times also reported this, describing Epstein’s fixation on genetic engineering, and noting that prominent scientists attended his gatherings even after his 2008 conviction. No wonder: he was funding many of them.
What the newly released emails do is add is shift the story from grotesque fantasy to something that looks uncomfortably like an attempt at implementation. Be as it may, the mention of Ukraine as a site for such work inevitably intersects with a much older debate.
For years, allegations concerning biological laboratories in Ukraine have circulated, often dismissed in Western media as “Russian propaganda”. Yet the record is quite solid.
Speaking before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee on March 8, 2022, then Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland confirmed that the US was working with Ukrainian biological research laboratories. Documents dating back to 2012 show that the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency funded bioresearch in Ukraine, and leaked materials from March 2022 indicated that an agreement under the Obama administration led to the construction of laboratories handling “especially dangerous pathogens”.
One should also keep in mind that Ukraine has long been a hub for CIA activity, as even the New York Times acknowledged when reporting on the expansion of US covert operations there for over a decade. Epstein himself was no stranger to arms-dealings and CIA connections, even including Iran-Contra links.
I have recently argued that allegations of biological and chemical weapons use in Ukraine deserve serious scrutiny. Accusations involving prohibited weapons are not new, and claims about shady biological research facilities have surfaced repeatedly over the years. Again, Western outlets have largely waved these away, yet they have occasionally surfaced in mainstream media, including reporting on documents indicating Hunter Biden’s role in introducing Metabiota to Ukraine and its ties to pathogen research (Hunter being the son of former US President Joe Biden).
In fact, Ukraine’s well documented record of human rights infringements, including abuses reported by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, makes all of it more believable.
To be clear, the Epstein-Bishop emails do not, by themselves, prove the existence of a cloning program in Ukraine. That would be a claim requiring further evidence. But they do corroborate, in a limited yet disturbing way, the notion that Ukraine has been used as a permissive environment for ethically dubious research, shielded from scrutiny and potentially intertwined with Western intelligence networks. The fact that such material is emerging from the Epstein world, a network already tied to human trafficking and other atrocities is disturbing enough.
To sum it up, the Epstein files demand more than selective outrage and police investigation. They invite serious, sustained international scrutiny of covert biological research, and the institutions and figures that potentially enable it, including shady American players with their share of ties with intelligence agencies.

Klonen von Babys, ukrainische Labore und Epstein: Wie westliche Medien die Enthüllungen der Epstein-Akten verschweigen und vertuschen
07-02-2026, Uriel Araujo, southfront.press/cloning-babies-ukraine-labs-and-epstein-..., www.justice.gov/epstein

A Photo from Day 8 of a 10 day 9 night "Railway Tour" of 13 Museums and Heritage Railway Locations. The Main Aim was to get as many Steam Train Journeys to add to my Steam Powered Journeys Spreadsheet which is my modern "Trainspotting" record.
When planning this "Rail Tour" I had hoped to go the Great Central Railway (GCR) at Loughborough but a lack of Timetables on their web site and a shortage of anything i viewed as attractive in terms numbers of Steam Locomotives in service on this day (Saturday) prompted a change of plan.
I decided to go to the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway (EBA) in the morning and I can move onto the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (KWVR) in the afternoon. It is only about 30 minutes by car between the 2 railways.
I joined at Embsay and was given a whole compartment to travel in to keep me away from other passengers. I think the railway must have been wanting to be careful and not take any risks of possibly allowing Covid to spread on their Railway.
Here, after travelling along the line to Bolton Abbey Station, a Cab Photo of No. 7 "Beatrice" before using the head shunt to enable running round the carriages to get ready for the return journey.
"Beatrice" No. 7 is a Hunslet Works No. 2705 0-6-0ST loco.

I was trawling through my old HD and I found my first proper comp effort! This is about...ooh, 5 years old or so and was made while I was skiving at work. I should have been filling in spreadsheets I expect.
Incidentally, I hold genuine fears for the products of helicopter parenting. Growing up without a spreadsheet populated with milestones and measurements, I have no idea how I even made it out of childhood. I feel that not everyone has or will.
I am not alone. Kenny Pittock's Throw caution to the wind, is a cast bronze replica of the familiar warning sign with a not so familiar message. He has a point; to a point. We learn to risk manage only when there is risk to manage. Those skills, the resilience built by an unpredictable reward schedule; these are the armour against anxiety.
Ironically, and creating tension with his art, is the Gallery's warning on the plinth: don't touch! For me, this is one of the most joyous entries in the list of Wynne Prize Finalists. However, the best will be saved for last.

As I was leaving Embsay Station, It had started Raining when I took this photo of MG Classic Cars which explains the MG headboard on Beatrice.
In the Background, No. 7 "Beatrice" is almost ready to set off on the next round trip .
"Beatrice" No. 7 is a Hunslet Works No. 2705 0-6-0ST loco.
Off to "ingrow West" Station next for the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (KWVR).

The Valley Camp Coal Co. was incorporated in 1907. As of December 29, 1931, Elm Grove Mining Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of Valley Camp. According to a survey conducted by the City of Wheeling in the same year, Elm Grove Mining Co. employed 700 men, 300 of whom were African American, constituting nearly 43% of all mine workers at a time when the African American population of Wheeling was approximately 4%.

Taken earlier in the year (with my S2) when i went up to Scotland for a couple of days. I have re processed this so I could try out Topaz Vivacity, primarily for sharpening as I have been looking for an alternative to Smart Sharpen in CS2. It also surpresses noise very effectively.
So altogether this has had the whole nine yards in processing:
Photomatix, Photoshop, Topaz Adjust and Topaz Vivacity.
I might just shove it into an Excel Spreadsheet to see what that does too.

Weird things happen when you have your dolls in boxes for over a year. Unless you keep a fairly detailed spreadsheet of your little possessions, you completely forget about them. Especially when you have bought, sold, and moved houses on top of usual life stuff while they were in boxes.
Isul White Rabbit du Jardin (along with Dal Loa and Taeyang Higekiri) came as surprise when I opened a large carton yesterday. I had completely forgotten I had ordered him last year. UGH!
While I'm sure I will debox the Dal and the Tae, I'm torn about this Isul. He's cute, no doubt, but I don't know if I want him in my collection. Guess I will have to let him sit around a bit longer.

When I arrived at "ingrow West" Station on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (KWVR), there were 2 Steam Trains operating along the line. I missed the USATC 5820 "Big Jim" loco which was powering the other train and waited for the LMS Ivatt loco which was going to Keighley and then going the full length of the line to Oxenhope.
Although I would normally get off and photograph the run round etc., the bad weather made me stay put. I didn't get any photos at Keighley but like to get Video of locos going uphill as the line sets off from Keighley.
Here, the only photo I am going to share with Flickr users is of 41241 at Oxenhope Station.
41241 is an Ivatt designed and Crewe Works built for the LMS 2MT Tank loco.
Shortly after this I return to Ingrow West Station on board a Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway "First Class" restored carriage which costs £2 or £3 pounds as a supplement.
During this journey i met an elderly retired Farmer who was having a very good week using a rail rover ticket.
I need to consider this option for 2022.

I'm compiling a bunch of info together in Excel for work. Probably not the best tool for the job but it's a good way to remember how powerful Excel can be if you know what you are doing... I'm not saying I know what I'm doing ;)
I photographed this vintage tanker truck in Virginia City, NV. It is a 1947-1953 GMC Advanced Design Series 5 window medium duty truck. Any further identification beyond this is a virtual impossibility (without being able to see the dmv registration papers or interior VIN plate) since there are literally Dozens of different combinations of models that this GMC could be all of which had this same basic styling. This is a shortened version of a longer more detailed article I’m writing about GMC truck history. FYI, I am claiming full copyrights to what you read below. So, if anyone on Flickr or elsewhere wants to copy what I have written for non-commercial use in presentations, printed materials, websites, online chat forums or social media pages then feel free to do so but be Absolutely Sure to cite me first (David S Baptist TruckShots81). The same citation requirements go for all photos taken by me that I have posted on my Flickr page.
The Chevrolet Advanced Design Series pickups (also referred to as the GMC New Design series) were introduced in 1947 and were GM’s first entirely new truck design post WWII. The Chevy & GMC pickups and light or medium duty chassis-cab models continued mostly unchanged until 1954 when they were restyled with a single piece windshield and a glitzier more prominent grille. The Advanced Design Series GM trucks continued on until halfway through 1955 when the Chevrolet Task Force and GMC Blue Chip pickups were introduced. There were really not many differences between the 1947-1954 Chevy and GMC light duty trucks other than styling tweaks and engine choices. The Chevy trucks featured a 90-horsepower 216 cubic-inch ThriftMaster OHV inline six engine. Half-ton & 3/4-ton pickups were offered with a standard three-speed manual transmission, a four-speed was optional. For 1954 a new standard 235 cubic-inch OHV six-cylinder engine producing 112 horsepower and 200 ft-lb. torque was introduced. The automatic Hydra-Matic transmission also began being offered as an option for light-duty trucks.
GMC trucks used Pontiac six-cylinder engines until 1939 when they introduced their own line of GMC exclusive I6 engines. For their light to medium duty trucks GMC offered their 228-cubic-inch (3.7 L) OHV (overhead valve) I6 engine along with a 248-cubic-inch (4.1 L) I6 (with 125 HP in 1954) and a 270-cubic-inch (4.4 L) I6. The 228 engine was used in 100 through 280 models, the 248 was used in medium duty 300, 350 & 400 series trucks while the 270 “Workhorse” engine went into the heavier 450 & 470 models. The GMC I6 was replaced by their new V6 engine in 1960 which GMC continued making until 1974 (when GM ended production of all GMC built 6 cylinder engines). The GMC truck line really begins distinguishing itself from their Chevrolet cousins when it comes to heavy duty commercial trucks such as the HC series which debuted in 1949.
WW2 era GMC’s were classified in an extremely convoluted soup of never-ending numbers and/or letters. (Their fraternal twin trucks badged as Chevy’s utilized a similar wide-ranging spreadsheet of alpha-numeric model ID’s but to a lesser extent than their GMC counterparts did). Whatever combination of numbers or numbers and letters that ended up in a trucks name was usually related somehow to its payload capacity, towing capacity, engine, truck type (straight truck, tractor, coe, etc.) and/or number of drive wheels. GMC marketing wizards divided their truck line into no less than nine individual series of trucks based upon weight ratings & payload capacities. The brackets started with their lightest 100 series pickups & panels then went all the way up to their 900 series Class 8 type heavy duty big rigs. Chevrolet sold both light and medium duty conventional and cab-over-engine trucks but they never sold their own versions of the heavy-duty GMC 600, 700, 800 or 900 series trucks. These heavy duty models, which came in both conventional & coe form, had their own separate cabs and distinctive big rig front end styling.
This old GMC has to be one of their trucks with at least a 1.5-ton payload capacity because these GMC’s almost always had a 4 bar grille. Therefore, I have concluded that this GMC could be any of the following model numbers or alpha-numeric combinations most of which fall into their 300 & 400 series: It could be a GMC 300-24, FC-300, FC-301, FC-302 or FC-303, 350, 350-24 two ton conventional, 350-27, 351-24, 400-27 gas, 404-27, 450-30, HC 450 & HC 470 conventional (470 = 2.5 tons), M 450-30 conventional gas, 450-37 conventional, 470-30 conventional, M 470-30 conventional gas, etc. I’m sure I have missed a number of other model possibilities in addition to those I just listed. Funny thing about old GMC truck names from this era is that some of them completely intruded onto what is now Ford’s turf with names such as F 350 or F 450-30. So actually Ford you were a full year late to the game when it comes to trucks named F or F-series (since the Ford F-Series F1 and higher trucks came out in 1948). The sheer number of truck models that GMC offered post WW2 is completely astounding, it took me more than several days of research just to write this short article and I haven’t even gotten into the 1955 Chevy and GMC 2nd Series trucks.
Because as a data point, you might just be a cell in a spreadsheet. This is some kind of parking area for a lot of vehicles next to the Philadelphia airport. They look like all white minivans.

Normally, I tend to avoid getting photos of buses heading into Kingswood Retail Park, but come on - I couldn't resist this! Two ex-Manchester buses in one go - that'll make some easy work for the spreadsheet! And it's a nice little action shot, too! Moving on from that, two particular features I would like to mention - on 19112, you may just be able to make out where it's Manchester worker bee vinyl, added across the Stagecoach Greater Manchester bus fleet in tribute to those who tragically lost their lives in the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, had once been placed on the front panel, while 19054 still carries the advertising hoardings of the event that, arguably, doomed us all into this mess, the Cheltenham Festival. Make of that what you will, of course.
A very lucky shot that required a fast change of lens, newly-cascaded Stagecoach in Hull 19112, a 2007 ADL Enviro 400 new to Stagecoach in Manchester and latterly based at Middleton depot before recently being transferred to Hull, passes alongside its recently-cascaded sister 19054, a 2006 example also new to Stagecoach in Manchester that up until recently was operating for Merseyside & South Lancashire - still retaining its yellow CCTV stickers from that operation. Both here at Kingswood Retail Park, they are working the 5 and 11 respectively for Hull Interchange.

At Didcot Railway Centre, their Diamond jubilee Gala had 4 steam locomotives with 2 each on the "Main Demonstration Line" and the shorter "Branch Line." 2 diesels powered some early morning and evening trains.
Several Steam Locomotives were also on Static Display and it was possible to go round the sheds.
A few photos from a walk round the Sheds.
