The sword Sorrow from Tad Williams's MEMORY SORROW AND THORN series.

To me, this waterfall at Diana's Baths looks like a weeping woman.

Part of an initial set of portraits based on the film Noir style.

Critique welcomed.

When the swan took flight -

An arrow to her breast -

Fledgelings left lost and wanting.

A future of uncertainty -

A handful of crystalline tears became their nesting ground -

Together in triumph, they would fly upon their own.

Sorrow's heavy burden yielding itself into wings.
