I made this card by cutting a stencil from a Tesco clubcard statement and dabbing through with my 'polar blue' versa ink cube, and then gently inked around the edge. It's understated, I think - good for someone who doesn't like the lillies and roses thing

Behind J, it says "Wall of Sorrow." This is the same alley I shot S in a couple of weeks ago. This time however, since it was a Friday, the hotel which this is connected to was open for buisness so people were deliving packages and dumping the trash, and hanging out on their smoke breaks. The first guy that passed us was like wtf, the second guy was like excuse me pardon me, the lady on her break was half interested in what we were doing, and finally the last guy who walked through was like, uh, sorry, sorry.
I lent J my Aviators. I haven't found a man that aviators don't instantly make cooler. Mine however are a bit big for J's face, but I think he still pulled it off. At this juncture I was telling him think sexy baby, now strike a pose.
my 165x170mm pencil drawing has been turned into a 730x750mm splashboard, I'm really proud that the detailing worked well with the upscale
Rained On White Rose
A sorrowful soul
In the Heaven's he awoke
The touch is alone
The memory alive with moments
long gone
For you my Brother
I leave my love in this
rained on white rose~
For the sweetest sorrow
are the smiles and the love
that lives on.

Memorial for My Brother Tommy's Birthday, I just wanted him to know I didn't forget! The white Rose is a symbol of honor and reverence, also of expression of remembrance. I will always remember The honor of having my brother in my life for even the short time I did and my love will always be with him!
I made the video, 'Goodbye Sorrow' by creating many small drawings and watercolor paintings, scanning them into the computer, and animating them in Flash.
For the show, the animation was projected into the corner of the gallery. I also chose to display all of the drawings by kind of collaging them on the gallery wall next to the projection.
The full animation can be seen on my blog! katiearmstrong.com/blogger.html
