Something Old - Southwark Cathedral, Something New - The Shard - London

So lately I have started KARtooning real cars which was something that I thought was possible - basically warping cars into funny shapes. With each one, I have learned something new.

Fast-forward to this image.

This old hot rod truck is in our hometown of Taber, Alberta, Canada. I have often driven by it for 20 years and never stopped to get a picture of it until a few days ago.

Kartooning it meant that I was using a full shot of the truck and from the same camera angle a zoomed in shot of the tires. Tires don't do well when they are stretched out and warped, so a larger version of the tires would help preserve the details.

I worked on the truck separately until I got a tooned image that I liked.

The backgound image was shot a few years ago in the next province over in Saskatchewan. I thought this image would be a nice backdrop to the truck.

Both the background and the truck were shot in HDR fashion bracketed from 3 shots. (the truck was hand-held)

After matching the colors and tonal ranges between the two shots it was time to blend them together into a single image.

It was fun but the entire time I am thinking...what on earth am I doing!?

Well, there you go, something weird.

granny-square love...no agenda, just make a square, make another, put them together and smile.

What do you guys prefer? One Big pic or two pics different posts?? Let me know in the comments! :D

Fell in love with this NEW hair from MINA the moment I saw it. It's soft and feminine with the thick plait reaching waist level. There is a styling hud for the hair whisps. I am wearing the full whisps, but you can also wear without.

Where is it available? Fameshed February event.

Also worn are SWALLOW Gauged Ears (instore) and AVI-GLAM Jadore eyes (LeLutka Powder Pack January 2018).

This is Pikes Peak’s southwest face. You can clearly see the road that crosses back and forth all the way to the top. However, the brand new Pikes Peak Summit Complex which replaces an older building can now also be seen from from this angle if you look closely (top of Peak to the right). Pikes Peak Highway, which is paved, is one is of the most popular tourist attractions in this area and is traveled by half a million people every year. Having been up there several times I can share that it’s an amazing experience with awesome views all around.

A robot inquisitor without morals or mercy.

This guy was built around his head, which I tablescrapped months ago after getting a bunch of the shovel pieces. I guess you can think of him as sort of a robosaint-inspired followup to my horse.

Also, I'm trying something new with my photo uploads this time. I think a main image alone might look better in feeds, so I've uploaded the other two as private, and put them so you can see them in this album here. I'd love to hear which way of presenting you prefer, if you have a preference. And as always, enjoy the MOC!

Also, here's the more detailed 'bio,' since I've gone ahead and entered this guy in the Brickset character contest:

Cisco is standing guard over his domain. He is making sure those pesky squirrells stay out of his area. In the past week he has something new to be on the lookout for. It seems that we have a pair of Chipmunks that like to frequent our yard. They have even taken to hiding behind some furniture on the back porch that poor Cisco cannot get behind. When they make a break for it they sometimes split up and take separate escape directions which utterly frustrates the poor boy!

Hey there,

I finally have something new to share. In collaboration with malengarek and The Brickforce I present you a collection of three different capital ships: A Venator-class Star Destroyer, an Arquitens-class light cruiser and a Assault Frigate Mark II. Huge thanks to Pande who made this amazing graphic for the ships!

Here is some lore to read through:

In 16 BBY, a secret supply run by a group of Republic Loyalists insurgents encounters a small imperial battle group orbiting Imdaar. After refusing to transmit the fitting clearance codes, the rebel ships are taken under fire by a Venator-class Star Destroyer. Its escort consists of two Arquitens-class light cruisers. The rebel\'s capital ship, a brand new Assault Frigate, repeats fire and deploys its starfighters and bombers, which take out one of the light cruisers. Soon, however, the rebel squadron, overwhelmed by the Empire\'s numbers of V-wings and TIE fighters, is forced to retreat back to their hangars. After their fighter advantage is lost, the rebels only barely manage to jump into hyperspace to escape the Empire.

In the aftermath of the encounter, rebel intelligence learns about the Empire\'s transport of large amounts of Doonium, a metal used for starship hulls, which is considered the reason for the unexpectedly large imperial presence.

Something new. Trying out lensball photography at Ballast Point Park for sunrise this morning. The 1st shot I rotated the lensball image so it was right side up, the 2nd image is the original. Which one you looks better? Thanks to my work crew for the birthday present.

Something new I am trying with glowing mushrooms.

This is a first for me, and the photograph is almost secondary. Oh, its a decent shot of a tiny damselfly, but the thing of interest is how the photo was made.

This little damsel was hanging on a leaf, almost inaccessible. On my knees, leaning way out over the water, on the cusp of going swimming, it was still well away from me, and a small thing in the viewfinder.

So I tried something for the first time: Nikon Live View. This locks the mirror up, and shows the view on the LCD screen. (it is intended for use on a tripod, and / or for video work.) This way I could hold the camera all the way out at extended arm's length -- balance still precarious -- and see the damselfly on the screen. It allowed me to put the camera very close...with this result.

(For a laugh, try the position yourself. Get on your knees, lean as far forward as you can without falling. Extend your arm straight forward holding a camera, and hold it steady. Most amusing to see, I imagine.)

As 113 was on approach, and due in part to my laziness and the fact that an AC44CWM was leading, I decided to not cross the tracks and shoot from the "shady side." CP 113 passes Yonge St. with CP 8149 and a Gevo, and a long intermodal train.

I wanted to try something new besides WW2 and here is the result ^^ Hope you like it. Comments are always appreciated.

Btw the car is inspired by Intense Potato and some others probably too ;)

I recently got this Brickarms Ak Apoc OM. I found it pretty interesting that mine has 4 colours instead of 3. For some reason the magazine is some kind of black-gunmetal swirl. Would be great if someone could tell me if that is common or something special. Thanks! ;-)

I just learned something new, from a fellow flickrita who was kind enough to walk me through things I've not tried before! She also sent me this nifty frame :) Thank you, Amanda!

I see a mistake or two... next one will be better, I promise ;)

How about the editing?

first time i did an editing like this, i hope you like it :)

WIth the first 25th Anniversary unit to hit Fort Worth in daylight, I had to get the Saginaw diamond shot where the former BN (FW&D) crosses the former Santa Fe. By next year, this diamond will be removed and replaced by turnouts. Coal train is the CBKMSLP1-10B for Smithers Lake.

Going back over some earlier material...nothing new at the moment. Way Back to 2011....with my original 5D.

There was a biker friend of mine...not a Hell's Angel...not that it matters...just someone who road in on a Harley to visit me whilst I was tripping through the beginning of my recovery back in 2011...yes, over 8 years ago...seems like a lifetime now...I'm not sure if it was him...I still was in shock from it all...near death one day...colostomy bag the next...withdrawal was a bitch...only a month had past...all I remember was something was Ruff...but I'll never forget that Road King...in the Shack...under the lights...got me to bring out my camera and do a shoot...yet I tucked the images away in the back of my mind...and in a far away drive...and then I found them again...and realized what a good friend I had and how that visit brightened my life enough to continue the fight another day.

We all have battles and I am not whining...my life is easy...just a story line for these pics I took so long ago.

Angels come in all forms...you just never know...:)))))

NOTE: THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS PHOTO HAS EVER BEEN POSTED.

For some reason these motorcycle photos put me in mind of an old Giant Sand Song "Solomon's Ride" I have listened to this song countless times over at least a 15 year span and always thought it was about a Motorcycle. Today, I found it on You Tube and learned the the song is about a Car...I believe it was a Plymouth Barracuda...so it just goes to show that reality is a misconception.

Doing something new as I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my style. I'm trying to reinvent it because I'm not really happy with what it was but at the same time I don't wanna be some generic portrait photographer. After taking a short break, I realised I wasn't happy with my style and I wanted to change that. This most recent shoot with this lovely lady here gave me the opportunity to try out some new stuff that I had in mind as I try to reinvent my style. I feel like I go through phases where I'm not happy with my style and I wind up changing things a lot. I guess we'll see where this project takes me.
