We just got back from our summer vacation :) This was my littlest 1st time touching sand. I think you can tell by her face that she loved it :)

Is death something new in the stock

Of events stored for mortal's sake ?

By Nature from it's early wake

Scented blooms although shorter lives may take.

Length of life is not the mark

A human holds, a golden hook

To fish his laurels or to gain

His ends in life avoiding stake,

But the way he acts before its break.

Life of man from where it comes

And how in body lingers who knows ?

And who is to pronounce

It's form or size, and its immanence

Are we able to know ? poor souls

To let you see your sun set at noon

O ! hapless would it ever be ?

For irretrievable, if it is to happen

Could you dear mum bear the pain ?

Hurled unto darkness, what more to add

From the world to depart is sad

But to part with the one, prideless to you in life

Would it be so hard indeed ?

After nearly 5 years of taking pictures, I think this is my first B&W.

Tried something new...

I'm trying something new.

Let's call it a challenge! (oooh the big word)

The idea is to create one miniature scene per week.

Partly because it's fun, partly to boost my own creativity.

The pizza scene :

I made : pizza oven, food, floor, wall, wood trays.

I bought : table, baskets, metal baskets, frame

Real : the tomato

Why? I love pizza. Duh. And I learned to make pizza dough, so pizza is on mind often enough :)

and a little blue...

thought I would try something a little different with the brush embroidery. I wanted them to look like blooming roses. I think it worked pretty well :)

I guess I wanted something new in my life

A new key to fit a new door

To wake and see a different view in my life

What I've been waiting for

Dreams like everyone I had a few in my life

Who knew that this one would come true in my life

I knew the moment when you touched me

You touched me

You're like a sudden breeze that blew in my life

A new face, a new smile, a new song

And now I know I wanted you in my life all along

You're like a chance I had to take in my life

I found you and couldn't lose you

And all the difference that you make in my life

The feelings I never knew

An old picture my dad took in the late sixties, to which I added some new elements.

Upstream by Francisca Venegas at Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2018

I was walking beside the mill stream at Konavoski Dvori and came across a bit where the sunlight was breaking through the trees illuminating a few square feet of the water's surface, illuminating the orange and gold leaves lying on the bottom of the stream. The water was flowing fast at this bit and was strongly rippled. I shot downwards not thinking about the shutter speed, catching the light as it sparkled.

It was only later when I zoomed in on the captured image, cropping it down to about 1/4 size that I started to see that each sparkle of light had moved on the rippling water surface within the exposure period creating streaks and loops. So those white streaks are exactly as they came out of the camera. Could I reproduce this effect? I don't know, but I love the effect.

Apart from cropping and a little extra saturation, this shot is straight out of the camera. Zoom in on the white streaks to see them in more detail

Native azaleas. They’re deciduous. In the winter they have beautifully shaped bare branches, and plump teardrop shaped buds. They’re just starting to bloom and I love them already. Perfect for my woodland garden.
