From Windhoek Namibia, The Hunt for Higher Ground is a 3 piece instrumental rock band. With their progressive playing style and their melodic approach, they aim to push their playing to its limits and to bring something new to the ever growing Namibian rock scene.

Since its inception THFHG have played a number of shows including the sought after Radiowave 96.7 FM birthday concert as well as Namibia’s first true rock festival, The Tafel Lager Namrock Festival 2013, all to great reception.

On the Edge of Something New

Where: Tyler State Park, PA

When: May 2012

Settings: 1/100", f4, ISO 100, Flash

Notes:

I am working on a new ambgiram. Not a 180 or 90 degree, but a 45 degree ambigram. This is the first rough 'complete' sketch I've done so far. The top should say 'positive' and when turned 45 degrees clockwise, it should read 'negative'

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I saw many girls wear dresses with hijab and I think it looks pretty. So i tried one myself.

The dress was bought on 2005 (I think so) and the belt was bought and used only on 2007, Form 5 Annual Dinner. The are all school time stuff.

Oh, this was captured using Digicam, all the blur effect was photoshopped purposely as if the camera is SLR. :P

We went to the Yubari City Hall to complete tasks required for my visa/residency card and had a few minutes to rest. We went to some vending machines and I spotted one of the weirdest teas I have ever seen: a tea-yogurt mix ("Teagurt"). It wasn't bad if a little sweet for me. The yogurt flavor overwhelmed the tea flavor, though...

It's amazing how a quick snap can turn out so well and then others that I set up and plan for .... don't! This one is the former and I'm very happy with it. This photography caper is such a hit and miss affair!!! :-)

WELCOME TO PITTEM

In search of something new to do or a hobby, Thijs decided to start brewing beer in his kitchen. Soon, from the kitchen he moved to brewing into his shed. Eventually, an old installation was bought from Brouwkot (today Gulden Spoor). With this quite primitive technology the labor-intensive and manual brewing continued for 5 years.

Verona of course also has new things including some interesting shops and galleries. This gallery had the coolest installation art I've ever seen. Giant spaceships that are made of different components like a very cool lego set with little worlds in bubbles. I wish it was open so I could take a better look/picture.

New Zealand Tree Fern.

Despite the late frosts and awful weather we have had recently I was happy to see my tree fern is still looking healthy!

The large leaves in the background are rhubarb which I managed to "force" by covering it with a bucket in January.

I love walking around the garden at this time of year, there is always something new happening :)

this is a drawing i made this evening.marlon brando.i know it's not perfect but it's not my speciality.

They've made a new Prairie Dog town at Caprock Canyon! I was there today, and learned that they were "releasing the hounds" soon, so I went down to shooot the action.

They put out bottomless cages over a pre-drilled hole, and filled the cage with straw. Then they put about 6 Dawgs in each cage.

They'll dig their way out of the cage in a few days, and there are also some other pre-dug "starter holes' nearby for them too.

So cool! And the natural landscape will keep them in place (canyon clifs on either side)

I'm picturing Georgian housekeepers shopping at the Chinese supermarkets. It's a nice mental picture.

I found something new in my house to photograph in the eleventh hour! You'd think I'd have learned, by day 363, that I shouldn't wait until 10:30 pm to take a photo!

Cadi and Brooke tried boogie boarding on real waves at Jenness Beach. They can't wait to go back and boogie board again!

I normally go for the elevated shot east of the crossing here at Minooka, IL, but the shot by the crossing doesn't look to bad either as an extra IAIS RIBI train heads east.

July 3, 2008.

Something new I'm adding to high school seniors is something I call "Senior Situations". Basically, I set them up in their future career or in this case, something different. Then I write a little story about their situation. I use light painting for most of them and we have a great time and they get an image that is very unique.

Every individual making an origami bird to one making a giant robotic arm is considered a maker and Maker Fest celebrates this epiphany of innovators, creators and designers ranging from a weaving artist to a rocket scientist. It is the platform for people who create magic using the technology hidden under the roof. Stretching from every corner of India, it is all about developing a great maker community in the country where people can learn and share in depth about the art. It is a trigger to a giant explosion of creativity that buzzes inside every innovator to showcase the resourcefulness of possessed knowledge by implementing it to a greater use.

Maker Fest is the Indian continuation of Maker Faire hosted across America, Europe, Africa and Japan, among others. Maker Faire, which launched in California, USA in 2006, now hosts hundreds of thousands attendees twice a year across California and New York. It is the amalgamation of festivals celebrating the innovators and an art show with all the booths for inventors and demonstrations and workshops for attendees. Creators, artists and hobbyist across the country are invited to present their contemporary applications of ideas using the vast ocean of art, science and technology. Also, it is non-commercial and free for the public to attend.

Maker Fest monumentalizes not only the final product but also the learning and explorations one faced during the making of something new using the already established. Come together to build up an enormous community of Makers in India as India is renowned of having the greatest intellectual horsepower among other countries of world.

Ideate, build and share.

My dad sent this Brownie movie camera to me today. It had belonged to my grandfather.

228s with finger-painted printing ink. Will probably add more layers.

No wonder I look sneaky... I'm going to the club on a weeknight!
