I don't really know if this is considered "something new" but I've never done something like this before. I got a glass jar and put '2013' on it, and everytime something exciting happens, I'll write it and put it in the jar.

comments and critics are welcome!

New Zealand Tree Fern.

Despite the late frosts and awful weather we have had recently I was happy to see my tree fern is still looking healthy!

The large leaves in the background are rhubarb which I managed to "force" by covering it with a bucket in January.

I love walking around the garden at this time of year, there is always something new happening :)

Hanging out at the Family Tree again, Fin discovered a new toy Kim had put out.

9 mo. 2 weeks. 2 days.

sorry about the bad editing by my elbow. Idk what happened there I guess I was just too tired to fix it.

So I've had a little change over at my blog and would love you to visit!

Pop over and say hello!

For PFOs weekend scavenger hunt.

I can't decide if making my first handmade journal is a big step forward, or just a distraction from the project at hand: a landscape (scary thought!!!) as the first challenge for Every Day in May.

Last night I was sailing along. I'd decided it was a great idea to make a dedicated EDM journal with papers I wanted to test, offering variety and interesting serendipity. I'd found an empty drawing pad board to use for covers, some lovely fabric, end papers from a Strathmore Art Papers pad. Today, I can finish the book or go work on the landscape along with EDM#2 (my resolution: to practice value sketches). But can I do both? The day is already half gone!

The signature papers: "mystery" parchment with Strathmore 400 Drawing inside; Stonehenge - pale blue; Lanaquarelle 140 lb. hot press; Canson Mi-teintes - orchid - with taupe pastel paper inside; Arches 140 lb. hot press; Lanaquarelle 140 lb. cold press. To be used in reverse order.

Description:London has a market for just about everything. One of my favorite markets to go to in London is the Borough Market. The Borough Market is a food market with venders that have anything from fresh organic smoothies to some of the finest cheeses, they also have TONS of sweets like this goat milk pistachio ice cream!

The shrubs, rocks and mulch beautify a space under a large spruce tree that is not suitable for turf.

I'm starting something new! I've always wanted to do peg dolls but never had the effort or time for it. My little cousins eighth birthday is at the end of next month and I wanted to do something special! His dad doesnt let him play with dollhouses because theyre "too girly". So I'm making him a S.H.I.E.L.D hq/Avengers training house. It will have a laboratory, a training room, a cafeteria, and a bedroom for when the superheroes get tired. Birthday boy requested the lab and caf. I'm also making him peg dolls to go along with it - for now, I'm making the movie Avengers, but if I have time after it's all done, I'm going to add some of the original Avengers (Ant Man,etc.) I already made Wasp and Captain America. I plan to do more tomorrow. This is getting long, so I hope this inspires you!

I might have some work left to do on this image or I've just been looking at it way too much. I'll just post what I have for now.

Two of precision locomotive leasing's locomotives sit silently in Metro north's Croton east yard. The locomotives are currently assigned to a ditcher train working on the upper Hudson line.

This scene looks old, while it's a picture I took a few days ago in Genova. The houses look fifty, to me. The street lamp, I don't know. The moon is quite old...

It wasn’t supposed to be like this, he always made it back. He knew this was different, he had felt the uneasiness grip him when he agreed to take the job. He couldn’t say no, not to those eyes. She knew just how to pull and tune the right strings. No matter what thought this was new, this was different. It was a setup, no doubt about it. There was no way his mark would have known, not without some inside help.

Now for the first time he felt something he never had...fear. This sensation was alien to him, as was the ever growing idea that he might not make it out of this alive. One thing kept screaming in his head....”crawl for your life.”
