Well, tried something different. I guess its HDR. I layered 3 long exposures together. I didn't use the bracketing feature though. I wasn't really going for this look, but I had 5 variations of this shot, and used 3 that looked decent, and combined them together. As you can see, the cars look see through.
"Something New" felt like a hard one to nail down. It was towards the end of the day that I was reading Keene State's paper, The Equinox, that I noticed it's publish date was today. It felt like a bit of a stretch, but with the day quickly running out I decided that this was going to be it for today.
It's an interesting pressure, this act of creating something every day - of capturing a moment every day that's tied to a theme or an idea. Looking back over this month's photos, it's changed the way I think about the days going by. It's slowed down time, stretched it out in some strange way. Maybe that's one of the reasons that I find this challenge so exciting.
I've never been 100% happy with my B17, so I thought i'd try a Swift since it's got longer rails and I can move it back a little farther. We'll see how it goes. I like the look of it, but that's useless if my butt doesn't like it.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
some shots from the abandoned restaurant and lodgings where "Night of the Iguana" was filmed and the actors (Richard Burton, Ava Gardner, Deborah Kerr) were housed.
Trying something new. Dropping Food Dye into glasses of water.
Experiment 7: The evening sun was pouring in through my window. I had to take advantage of the light. Went back to red and tried to get drops hitting the water. Failed miserably. I think I put my camera too close, restricting the focus. If I back off and get a wider focus, I may increase my chances.
Popped to Cromer yesterday for something new. Stopped for a little while but couldn't feel the love. To many Eastern Euro trash there! Sorry thatrs not fair, Cromer is ok, but it is such a terribly unthought out layout that ruins it, bloody traffic driving up every street is a pain in the arse!
Anyway we got bored there and decided to take the short beautiful coast road to nearby Sheringham. What a lovely place one of the jewels in the North Norfolk coast, this is a place I could visit again.

We got new siding, windows & doors this week! (phase one of major remodel) I had hoped to get a shot of our fabulous new front door, however it's on backorder and won't get installed until next week (fingers crossed). So this is my attempt at making siding interesting-ha!

Ps. Good morning everyone :) I'm typing away on my new keyboard here - told you I had bad luck with my computer recently.. but now everything seems to be fixed and fine :D (I'm waiting to buy a laptop just yet.)

Mary (dont make a scene) has been working feverishly on some new things that I have sneakily posted before she was ready (he - he). I hope you enjoy them. She will be providing much more information with photographs (of course) soon.
My daughter and I are learning violin together as of this year. She looks a lot better in the pictures, though. :)
Strobist info: SB-800 at camera left, TTL no adjustment through a 6 x 3 foot tall DIY diffusion panel. Two SB-600s on the floor, left and right with red gels somewhere around 1/4 power.
Denyse Schmidt "quilt-it kit". It's been ages since I've sewn. This is an experiment. It's wonky. I believe it's supposed to have some elements of wonkiness, but maybe not to this degree! I also had trouble laying out the pieces on the fabric...it didn't fit the way the instructions showed, so I don't have the nice rotating pattern. Oh well!
Now, I just need to get some muslin, batting, pillow form....
Swans on the Moat at Wells.
There were a couple more cygnets but they took off in the other direction!

74. Something new.
I'm was working with my 50 because I didn't want to drag around my flash and was kinda shocked to see the amount of lens flair it had.
this was kinda spur of the moment with a great deal of editing to make the 3200 ISO look like film grain. I really like the lens flair and it's not photoshop at all. haha.
