I'm was working with my 50 because I didn't want to drag around my flash and was kinda shocked to see the amount of lens flair it had.

this was kinda spur of the moment with a great deal of editing to make the 3200 ISO look like film grain. I really like the lens flair and it's not photoshop at all. haha.

Sprout/Microgreen trays I've been considering ordering for a while. Finally ordered them and I'm glad I did. They stack quite compactly for storage, and when in use they're quite stable stacked on top of each other. Not sure I'll need 5 of them, but who knows - when gardening season ends, i might work on a plan to have a constant supply of fresh microgreens & sprouts.

figgered something new out today.....

Listen, at first you said I do, but now it's I did,

Said together we should live, now your mad with time we spend,

Used to be jealous of my friends, and fill my weekends,

But, now your off for pastimes,

Playin' games with my mind,

Your layin' the blame in my lap, but delaying laying in our bed,

Yo, I meant what I said when you weren't listening, and I'm not saying it again

TRUTH #1003

I TRY TO LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY

Today I was caught off guard by something (more like someone)

But I proud of myself for the way I responded to it.

I could have very easily made a huge mistake.

And It's funny that right after all this happened we both laughed it off

As if it was all just a test.

This whole month feels like it's been this huge test. I've been so busy lately,

but I'm sure it'll all be worth it in the end

Metra 204 arrives into 80th at 3:35 PM as I test out a new kind of shot, which turned out better than I thought. 6/27/13

China Airlines Cargo is starting to park at and use the Northwest Airlines cargo ramp.

This jet is headed to JFK.

Started a new quilt a few nights back! I'm making the Modern Crosses quilt from Modern Log Cabin Quilting. However, instead of using a neutral for the background of each cross, I'm doing it reversed with the neutral as the cross! And, using vintage sheets! :)

All the blocks...I'm getting excited!

My trapunto block is pieced, but not done...you can see a peak of it in the lower right hand corner.

With all the packing and moving nonsense going on at the moment, I haven't had a chance to get out and get something new. I did, however, get the CinnamonRose presets this morning. What fun! This one uses "polaroid". If finally allows me a way to shoot bring pink flowers without turning the color into neon ~ something I haven't been able to figure out how to to do for years! These will be great to work with.

sorry, this is a little old, but I was completely unable to take a photo today.

All I have is one last chance

I won't turn my back on you

Take my hand drag me down

If you fall then I will too

And I can't save what's left of you

Sing something new

I have nothing left

I can't face the dark without you

There's nothing left to lose

The fight never ends

I can't face the dark without you

AGAIN with the facts:

1. I have eight days of school left and I'm not sure I want the summer to be here.

2. My ASL is my most favorite teacher EVER.

3. I have A LOT of nail polish and they're pretty much all in some shade of red or pink.

4. I'm really outgoing but only at school. Everywhere else I'm quite reserved.

5. Shrek 4 is awesome!! haha

6. Except, 3D movies give me a headache.

7. I like Subway.

8. I hate the way my eyes look in photos if I don't have make-up on.

9. I have two guitars. A steel string and a nylon string. I play the nylon string most cause my steel string has broken string. haha

10. I'm pretty impatient.

It is this that makes the Sleight of Mind Set Workshops so unique, that will inspire you to stretch your own thinking and have lead to people saying: "A great course, with plenty to think about" and " Fantastic day... a great eye opener!"

These worskhops are all being run around the country, in:

Glasgow - 2nd July 2013

London - 9th July 2013

Birmingham - 16th July 2013

Doncaster - 13th September 2013

For more information on the day, please see mindsways.com/SMS/ and for a brochure of what the day is about, please look at mindsways.com/SMS/.

Over the past 18 Months I have been running these Sleight of Mind Set Workshops throughout the country, and I am really pleased with the feedback, it has been tremendous, please don't just take my word for it, (I am after all biased) please see what people have said by going to mindsways.com/what-people-say/

For over twenty five years I have seen how magic can add value to delivery. There are a lot of unknown techniques out there, many of them psychological, that engages and attracts people. The Sleight of Mind Set workshop is all about how you can tap into this rich stream of ideas and "Mind Magic's" enduring popularity. The day looks at two paths running together, one learning the tricks and effects, the other why and how they add value to us.

They start at 10:00 a.m. and finish at 4:30 p.m. For more information about the workshops, please got to mindsways.com/SMS/

TAPPING INTO ENDURING POPULARITY

Mind Magic holds an enduring allure and popularity by bringing together entertainment, mystery and the paranormal. Magic is never far out of the popular sphere with Derren Brown currently filling seats across the country with his 'Infamous' tour and drawing large audiences.

This is also shown by Now You See Me, which is based on the premise of 'what if magic were real'. Starring Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher, it shows the hold that magic has over our imagination. To see the trailer and more, please go to mindsways.com/SMS/.

Our aim is to make the day informative, entertaining and practical for you. People have attended for many reasons including:

Curiosity

Learning something new

Interest in how the mind works

Adding variety to enliven their presentations

New and different approaches

Adding to their business practices

An increased reputation

A channel for their passion and fascination

Wider perspectives and experiences

The real power of Mind Magic and Psychological Artistry lies not with just the tricks, but the effect that the delivery of the tricks have on people. By doing this, you are tapping into the emotions of mystery combined with the power of the Personal Touch.

On the workshops and in the SNT kit, we give you the tricks, however, learning to use them with what you do is where the real power lies. This is when the real magic happens, in the minds of others. For more on the tricks, effects and pieces on the workshops, please go to mindsways.com/SMS/

PSYCHOLOGICAL ARTISTRY IN ACTION

A few examples of these tricks which make up part of the day are the "McGurk Effect" and Richard Wiseman's "Incredible Colour Changing Card Trick". These illustrate both the power and the approach of Psychological Artistry. By showing that all is not as it appears, these videos illustrate in a very visual manner that we cannot believe what we see, but we see what we believe. It is this and many other techniques that we train you in on the day. To watch these fascinating videos, please go to mindsways.com/SMS.

GAINING APPLIED ADVANTAGE

A theme of the day is how you can use these ideas and techniques to add practical value to your delivery through:

Using MMI's (Multiple Moments of Interest, Interaction & Insight)

Connecting emotionally and being relevant (emotional triggers)

Being memorable (giving people something novel to talk about)

Creating attraction (and making you stand out)

Increasing your delivery vocabulary

Bridging the innovation gap

Personal Touch delivery

WHAT DO YOU GET ON THE WORKSHOPS?

All of these will be demonstrated and explained with practical advice on their use in the workshop. The day will use both the Show, Not Tell kit and the Sleight of Mind Set pack. All of these are entertaining, informative, engaging and practical for you to apply to your delivery. "Thanks to you both for a challenging, stimulating and enjoyable day"

"I've had plenty of thoughts about how some of the approaches used might be incorporated into several areas of my work"

This is an unorthodox approach to understanding human behaviour, illustrating and promoting our messages, and this is where the real power lies. As Marty Neumeier says in ZAG " Be Different - No, Really Different". For more on what people say, please see mindsways.com/what-people-say/ and for more on the workshops themselves, please go to mindsways.com/SMS/

IMG_20190504_114734

Went out last night with my BFF to celebrate her birthday (a month late) by getting our noses pierced together. Discovered something about myself: when I'm nervous and trying not to pass out, I talk incessantly like a crazy person. It's a bit ridiculous, actually. Ah well. Finally did it. Took me more than ten years!

I bought myself something new this year.

Something new arrives! The Hasuki Pocket Arts line is something I've recently become familiar with. I don't think any of them have actually been any particular IP, I guess they've just been too boring or something. But the face sculpt of Fiona here caught my eye and it's not out of the realm of my normal figure price, so i figured why not.

1/12 figure, comes decently packed, though unfortunately things are easily lost and are fragile. In my case, the smaller welding tip went MIA and one of the hoops on the belt came unglued and flew off to god only knows where.

Like a good number of these Chinese start up companies, this line utilizes a pre made 1/12 scale body and they effectively play dress up. Now, having said this, this is probably the first time that I've seen a Female body without a significant bust line. Variety is nice, and they don't all need to be bikini supermodels. Having said that, the small size combined with the smooth nature of the plastic results in her top just sliding down to her waist for no particular reason other than Fiona likes to flash people with her itty biddies.

Each of the beautiful face sculpts can have their eyes repositioned, which is pretty standard these days. Great sculpting work on the googles and hair. The other parts of the figure are nicely sculpted as well, especially the welding equipment itself.

She has a very unique look, a combination of playful sexy with effectively metal shop class. She's got some decent looking overalls, but like any good Female anime-esque character, there's no way she'd ever pass OSHA standards.

While she does come with a fwe nicely done tools, Fiona can really just hold the welding torch and the Pipe Wrench. The Screwdriver and Pliers have no hands that can actually hold them, and the loop is too big for the Screwdriver, so these just stayed in the packaging. What's interesting is that while the hand can hold the Welding Torch, it's clearly a better fit for the smaller one, as that extra handle limits where I can put the thing and I fear for its breakage.

Articulation is actually not as good as you'd think. There's no butter shoulder but there is that double ball joint with the larger shoulder socket, so you do get better than average shoulder articulation. But other wise, what you see is what you get on the upper body. The lower body is weird. While Fiona is wearing baggy clothes, the actual body itself has some pretty mediocre hip articulation so sitting poses and other such things aren't actually that accessible. The waist turns fine but the back arch isn't great, though the ab crunch is tolerable. Chest level articulation seems to favour twisting only, despite being capable of more. So all in all, if you're not pushing the legs, you'll be fine.

Paint Applications are beautiful. Yeah the flesh coloured stuff is the plastic, but everything else is nicely done. Sanile Shell is pretty solid, and I have to say these guys are probably a step above them. Of course, it's only been one figure so it's not something that I can say conclusively But I CAN say that Fiona is a looker, even down to the things like hands which are typically not an area of strength for any manufacturer..

Build Quality wise, as I mentioned I'm not sure why the body seems stiff to operate. On the other hand, the elbow joints are a bit loose so I guess I can't win. There also appears to be an issue with glue just drying out and giving up on life, which is how I ended up losing that tiny loop. I'm also confused why the holding hands are not comprehensive and seem to only feature one size of grip, despite there being several options in the set.

Taken hand-held as I crossed the street, it's certainly blurry but I loved the feeling of this shot: it's got all the NYC elements - the Chrysler building, the taxi, the sense of motion.
