Up above the rim of San Lorenzo Canyon, looking north into the Seviletta National Wildlife Refuge. There's some really interesting terrain up here, and deer tracks all over the place.

This was the "snack" that opened our meal. There was the caipirinha, a Brazilian drink that they made special by adding some sort of nitrous oxide stuff to make it cold and fizzy, and the parmesan "Pringle" chip with a greek yogurt dip. We ate this first dish and were like, "Yeah, this is going to be awesome."

Today's subject in We're Here! is "snacks". And the spouse is mostly from the south. Boiled peanuts are a big deal there. You can buy them from vendors on the street. They're gross to me, a person who likes food and flavor, but one-third of my kids likes them too. In fact, she made up a batch of boiled peanuts herself and yesterday (Thankskilling), she gave them to her dad. We forgot to bring them home with us, but I'll see her in a couple days to babysit the grandtoddler.

The Soweto bike tour stopped at this pool hall for a snack of cow cheeks, livers, and pap, which is a cornmeal mush like grits.
