This is the old Barker Brothers furniture building on Broadway. It was built in 1908. Today, the ground level has a very colorful arcade and snack bar.
I actually found a baguette at a grocery store that I like. It is chewy yet moist and doesn't dry out in 8 hours like most grocery store "French" bread. It's made in Toronto by a company called Ace Bakery. The apple was a Gala but not as fresh as I'd like. The grapes? Sweet and crisp.
The snack rates a 7 out of 10 but mainly because of the apple.
The bread is at least an 8 which is outstanding for a grocery store bought bread IMO.
After repeatedly releasing and grabbing the fish with his beak until it was finally maneuvered head-on straight, this Merganser takes down the whole, relatively large fish.
