Zealandia Ecosanctuary, Wellington, New Zealand. As few as 100 House Sparrows (Passer domesticus) were released by the early settlers into New Zealand between 1866 and 1871 intended to reduce crop-eating insect pests. However they are more interested in the crops.

Macro Mondays - SNACK,

gehackte Haselnußkerne, geröstet und kandiert,

chopped hazelnut kernels, roasted and candied

I ran out of snacks for the blue jays, trust me they will let you know in their own subtle way when the food is gone. 😃

Black-headed gull picking up a mosquito from the water surface.

Put out a fresh bird block and it didn’t take long for the blue jays to come around and start getting their fair share.

Lanner falcons are well known for the blistering speed at which they hunt birds, but they sure do not turn a blind eye to a termite snack!

A detour around a closed bridge brought me down another dirt road and this delightful farm. Love the rusty and all metal outbuildings - the horses seemed to want to get their meal in before those nasty clouds opened up.

Nothing complicated today. Just simple. There were many snack ideas available but I did not want to waste my snack just to get a photo. I put this into a baggie after the shot.

For Macro Mondays 'Snack' theme. For unknown reasons I seem to be addicted to frozen raspberries - literally straight out of the freezer. I love the crunch and the taste of them.

Spiders are incredibly lonesome, they are of very much an introversion I can identify with. They literally have their "patch" so to speak, but beyond that, they're pretty much on their own. All other Spiders tend to mind their space and seldom, besides mating, do they intrude on another's web or patch, without a fierce face off with the legitimate owner. With their high population, they are aggressively competitive and I've seen these Spiders tread carefully when passing another's web.

Over the hill of this week, hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

Quite amusing watching these burying their winter stash but always finding time for a snack in between
