After meeting Sato and Kei and the trainstation, we went to the shops and bought up a bunch of snacks! It was pretty hot to be outside so we chilled out back at their house.
I loved their house, it was the perfection of japanese minimalism

I was looking up in the trees for birds and spotted this squirrel way on top a very tall tree, snacking on the newly sprouted leaves.

The stall vendors offer a very wide choice of the snack food prepared in front of you. The food ranges from harmless fruit slices to different (but easily identifiable) meat and fish cuts, to more exotic (but yet familiar) star fish and sea horses, and centipede, variety of spiders and mean looking bugs on the wooden scewers.
We didn't venture into the "bugs cuisine", but had variety of fish and meet on skewers on two occasions. The spices used for meet and fish grilling were absolutely delicious.
It is not an easy transition to go from Mexican food and fast food to the
healthy and sometimes really weird Japanese food and snacks. I got these
from one of my professors at the university. They come in different flavors
and colors, but these ones in particular had a flavor that comes from some
fish, whose name I cannot remember. Even the Japanese students thought they
tasted funny!
