We started off Labor Day weekend with a side trip off the walk home to Sonic, where we enjoyed half-price happy hour drinks (I'm pretty sure she had a slush) and she had an order of tots.

This is "mentai sakiika".
I ate this yesterday for the first time.
The taste was so-so. I prefer ordinary saki ika to this.

Just some snacks that I ordered from asianfoodgrocer.com! I love Almond Crush Pocky, which is the only thing in this pic that is mine, OK so there was another loaf of melon bread that was also mine...And umm, some Mango Ramune Soda (pictured is the strawberry)...But that's it! :) Other than the Almond Crush Pocky, Melon Bread and Lottepies, those are all stocking stuffers.
I love snacking on dried fruit, but it can get pretty expensive sometimes, so I bought myself a food dehydrator so that I can make my own - Oh My Goodness, fabulous!!!!
This was my first attempt and if I do say so myself, very 'fruitful' it was too :o) (sorry, couldn't resist :o)
Strawberries, pineapple and watermelon. The strawberries were nice, but not so much to eat on their own (more for on cereals and mixed with other things). I have to practice a little more with the pineapple, because either too moist still, or too dry and crunchy, but the flavour was still great. The watermelon however was a HUGE success - the flavour just exploded out of it, sweet and chewy like wine gums. YUMMY!!!!
I'm going to try mangoes next, and papaya and kiwi and nectarines and apples and bananas and.....the list is endless :o)
Yippee for the food dehydrator !!!!! :o)
