Alien Day 2024 - Build progress for the 1:18 scaled Narcissus Shuttle interior diorama - ALIEN 1979.
Happy Alien Day!
Took some time to properly build up Ripley’s sleep chamber in the shuttle. The static figure of Ripley is hand sculpted, molded and cast. The chamber itself has padding sculpted to fit the contours of the figure, plus a furry friend I haven’t finished sculpting yet (Jonesy the cat).
The tubes are made of Aves FIXIT sculpt, rolled and textured. Since the tubes are static, I didn’t bother with casting them in rubber.
All of this is easily disassembled and reassembled for stowing away when not on display or when you only need a section to show off. The entire shuttle will be this way.
I have as second sleep chamber to prepare on the opposite side. Surprisingly many don’t realize there’s two sleep chambers on board the shuttle.
