Paint progress on the Alien from Alien: Isolation. A work in progress but I thought I'd share a couple fun pictures of the process half way through. The full shot was actually a mistake from low light but since the paint isn't finalized I thought it would be cool to share a full body shot of the assembled figure with that extra long tail smile emoticon I plan on creating a bendy tail eventually but for right now it's a static piece connected with a Revoltech joint. Working on a two additional head sculpts for this figure. Closed mouth and open strike. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎alienisolation‬ ‪#‎creativeassembly‬ ‪#‎amandaripley‬ ‪#‎sevastopol‬

Nostromo Corridor Update - 1:18 scale - ALIEN 79. Some of the first B deck corridor pieces - I think it's B Deck. It can get confusing sometimes. Where I am quite comfortable of my whereabouts on A, below that I can get lost. I know one thing...C deck is the basement...where the monster lives. Anyway, the detail is taken to a whole new level the deeper you go into the craft. I need to create some additional greeblie panel work while I go deeper. Lights will illuminate from the screened in boxes you see here. Additional tubing and details will be added. #alien #nostromo #corridor #greebliework #modelbuilding #sith_fire30

THRILLING isn't the word to describe what I'm feeling right now after receiving these pictures from Jean-Pierre Jeunet this morning of my Newborn (Alien: Resurrection) head sculpt on display along with various other miniatures made by fellow artists, Kazuhito Kimura, Dominique Roche and the director himself, Jean-Pierre Jeunet!

So happy and thankful once again for the opportunity to contribute to a beautiful display full of brilliant work. I'm honored to be part of it!

If you're visiting Lyon, France before May 19, 2019, be sure to take some time to check out the Caro/Jeunet exhibit at the Musée Miniature et Cinéma and say hello to my little guy. He may be a little homesick but he's in good company

I'm preparing to pour the top half of the Funky Shü mold. The curved eyedropper will provide the pouring inlet (sprue) and the copper wires super-glued to the Shü are the vents which will allow air to escape the high points of the mold as it fills with plastic. This particular design and orientation has only two air entrapment points, so it was relatively simple to vent.

Two momoko wearing shoes I made. Lacy Modernist has a test pair--a reject set of castings that I drilled a bunch of holes in to figure out where to best anchor wires to hold the laces.

It's hard to make out the details of the black shoes on black floor--not the best choice of materials on my part, sorry.

The watercolor style guide of Iveliz drawn by Donoctavio and used to format the stop motion puppet.

"Are you ever going to paint any of your aliens?"....Yes! Yes I am! Here's a quick shot of a finished piece. Much more to come smile emoticon ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎alien79‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎bigchap‬ ‪#‎giger‬ ‪#‎painting‬

A quick shot of some resin pulls for Alien Warrior pieces. I have the lower torsos in the works now. Next step will be sculpting the arms. Nothing cleaned up - just some rough pulls and again, quick shot with the smartphone...not the best quality. ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎alienwarrior‬ ‪#‎casting‬ ‪#‎smoothon‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎hive‬

Trying my best to pour slowly, yet moving around to fully encase the character.

Thanks for all the love you all have given my work over the past year. To those that have shared my work with others and have brought attention to my work, CHEERS to each and every one of you! Thanks for all the inspiration and discussion, thanks for sharing ideas and critique. You guys are the BEST fans on FB in my opinion. 2015 is going to kick ass!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!!!!

After several technical difficulties, I'm finally back on schedule to begin painting! Haven't painted in quite some time so it's nice to mix things up a bit. Speaking about mixing up, that's what I've been doing over the past couple days - mixing paint! LOL!

Already have a few coats of gray acrylic (primer) applied to the Newborn heads. Jeunet only needs one but I always like to have two worked up just in case.

May even have time to paint up a couple other Alien (79) figures that were tabled!

Will take shots of my progress and update when I can.

Success! Nice smooth castings...

Paint progress on the Newborn - 1:18 scale - Alien: Resurrection. Musée Miniature et Cinéma piece for director Jean-Pierre Jeunet and the CARO / JEUNET expo.

Working on the first couple layers of the face, eyes, mouth. Very fleshy at this stage - want to highlight it out a bit with some aged whites or even lighter tans with a hint of greens running through it. Will begin moving toward the back of the head and neck over the next day or so.

Difficult for me to work on this piece all in one day due to my work and home schedule so I'm doing the best I can- Living for a quiet weekend. To have more time to paint this and much more.

Hope you enjoy the works in progress... #aliens #alien #newborn #painting #sculpture #customactionfigure #miniature #caro_jeunet

This mold was not sealed up tightly enough when I poured, because I was using fewer than the usual number of rubber bands in order to get a clear shot of the filling process with my camera.

Progress on the Translucent Alien Concept variant - Alien 79 - 1:18 scale. I have all the pieces of the beast cast in clear resin - Smooth-on Crystal Clear 200. Painted the head and torso - Still a work in progress as I paint and piece each piece together. Unfortunately I'm loosing some of the translucence via the paint process..I may revisit the casting again using a milky white pigment alone and simply add a wash to the body. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎translucent‬ ‪#‎painting‬

Attached the forearms and hands - Build update on the second alt posed version of "The Beast" - ALIEN 79 - 1:18 scale. Next, cast a tail or two and continue the assembly. Going to use the heat gun to allow the fingers to "relax" a bit. Need to finished the torso sculpt to the Alien Warrior as well. ‪#‎alien‬ ‪#‎aliens‬ ‪#‎nostromo‬ ‪#‎xenomorph‬ ‪#‎giger‬

This is the silicone mold I'm using to make the wedge bases for my momoko sandals. This one mold makes a left and right pair simultaneously.
