This home is located in my small town of Bostwick Ga. It's protected from by passers as there's a no trespassing sign attached to the fence post. I wish more homes of this nature were protected so we can learn more about those who came before us

This is the same butterfly as that in my previous post, this time with the sun lighting up the grasses in the background.
Late afternoon on the Ord River cliffs and a Monjon rock wallaby (Petrogale burbidgei) appears, apparently to sit back and relax. Monjons are the smallest rock wallabies on the planet (1.3kg, 30cm) and only found in the remote northwest Kimberley and neighbouring Bonaparte Archipelago. Their speed and agility over the vertical and craggy cliff face are astounding. A rewarding capture after a long journey through the remote Australian bush.
Species: Cupido minimus.
Our smallest resident butterfly is easily overlooked, partly because of its size and dusky colouring, but partly because it is often confined to small patches of sheltered grassland where its sole foodplant, Kidney Vetch, is found.

A Small White (Pieris rapae), I think(?) on beautiful blue Cornflowers. Butterfly ID corrections always welcome! It's been a relatively wet Summer after a rainy Spring, so our gardens are filled with butterflies, bees, dragonflies and gorgeous flowers. :)

Of all of the severe weather phenomena in our part of the world I think I fear freezing rain the most. It makes all forms of transportation (including walking) very dangerous and often impossible. It prunes the forest felling large and small trees alike, often, onto the power lines that are so essential to those of us who live in the hinterland. All the while, it adds sparkling beauty to an already beautiful nature.
