Santa Cruz is one of the best trekking routes in the Cordillera Blanca, Peruvian Andes. Here you will see the most important Peruvian peaks in few days, also many mountain lakes and rivers. Photo is taken close to Taullipampa camp, at 4500m.

Macro de una mariposa, Lycaena phlaeas, la llamada comúnmente Manto bicolor. A butterfly macro, Lycaena phlaeas, the commonly called Bicolor Mantle. I approached carefully and with slow movements, so that he would not be frightened, when I saw that he perched on top of the fruit of a poppy and was calm, take advantage, to immortalize the moment in the image, which has resulted in this photograph.
There are 4 or 5 species of orange-colored globemallow flowers that can be found in Colorado. Based on the location, the overall appearance, and the shape of the leaves, I deduce that this is Small-leaf Globemallow (Sphaeralcea parvifolia).
