I'm really pleased with how this came out, quite a few SC's around this year but not managed to get them mating before :)
A few newly emerged Small Coppers on my patch this week, managed to grab a few shots between the rain.

Delighted to find a Small Tortoiseshell butterfly this morning. My first this year & I usually see the ex hibernators in late winter on a sunny day. When I got home another was in my garden on the flowers of the yellow berried cotoneaster
Sometime when the sun sets, it looks so small, the impact is can be seen everywhere, but there is just that minute or so where the sun looks to be just one small part of the story.

Wildflower with a couple of visitors in Colorado Rockies.
One of my favourite butterflies. Quite a fair number visited my garden this year and one has decided to hibernate in my house hopefully it will stay asleep till the spring. I love the little blue heart shaped spots along the edge of the wings.
The moorland heather is in flower and attracting butterflies like this striking little Small Copper.
A lovely little fir stands proud against its grown up neighbour. Taken in my favourite sea of ferns in Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire.
