There are 4 or 5 species of orange-colored globemallow flowers that can be found in Colorado. Based on the location, the overall appearance, and the shape of the leaves, I deduce that this is Small-leaf Globemallow (Sphaeralcea parvifolia).
There was a mass of grasses, vines and other plants on a slope at Colorado's Red Rock Park, but these spikes of bright orange flowers stood above the tangled greenery--a most delightful sight.

The willows are attracting hoards of insects at the moment, bumblebees, honey bees, hoverflies and butterflies

SMALL WONDERS
It crossed my mind how many small wonders go unnoticed every single day. The fact that we all breath without having to think about it. Our hearts just pump without a thought. So all these small wonders happen for each of us every moment of every day. LOOK to your left and right, front and back, there are wonders all around you.
Consider this...If these small wonders are happening for each of us is it not reason to celebrate? Take it to the next level, that person you just met is a wonder too!
If just a small portion of us practiced this thought what a different world we would live in.

"Merlins are small, fierce falcons that use surprise attacks to bring down small songbirds and shorebirds," according to allaboutbirds.org. Maybe that explains why I spotted this Merlin perched high in the treetops at Chicago's Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary, a place where lots of songbirds pass through during Spring migration. The scientific name for these predators, which are only about the size of a pigeon, is Falco columbarius.

These are two of my small perfume bottles designed to use in evening bags. The one on the left is Organza perfume (measures 3 x 1 inches) and the other is empty ready to be filled for an evening out (measures 2 x 1.75 inches). HMM everyone ! !
