This intriguing Bruno vegetable slicer I spotted at my local GoodWill. I was really tempted to buy this, because it was all in German, but I went with my better judgement and did not.
I always find it magical to see a plane passing overhead going to an unknown destination while the rest of us go about our ordinary earthbound routines below.

I can't get this picture edited right because I can't put my finger on what seems wrong about it. I will have to wait until I haven't seen it for a year and then it will be like "DUH!" I feel this way when I look at all old photos.
Started slicing with the knife, but then remembered we have grandma's mandolin. That made for much shorter work and prettier slices! This will be their briny bath home for the next 12 hours.

Coffee Fudge Slice!
225g butter
1 tin of condensed milk
3 tablespoons espresso coffee (or to own taste)
2 packets of plain vanilla biscuits (crushed)
100gms of walnuts / pecans or favourite nut.
Melt butter, condensed milk and espresso over low heat. Add crushed biscuits and nuts. Press into a flat lined tin and bake for 8 minutes at 180degrees celcius.
Ice while still warm with chocolate ganache or simply melted chocolate.
(Made with Pecans as was giving some to Kathryn (4GoodnessCake!) and know she doesn't love walnuts!

Strobist info: Pentax 540fgz on 1/4 power with a yellow gel above, behind and right of the mirror with the lemons and bounced off a reflector (white door) to fill the mirror with yellow light. Vivitar 285HV on 1/8 power with a DIY grid snoot and diffuser camera right and at the same level as the subjects. Both flashes fired using Cactus V2 triggers.
