First time doing a slice of cake shape cake and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I sometimes find it difficult to decorate cakes for men unless there is some specific theme or object to create.

A fresh Jalapeno from my urban garden gets sliced for breakfast. Love hot peppers in scrambled eggs.

Sliced apples and cheese with wine....

It looked OK on the inside and was nice and soft and fluffy.

Rebaking converted the soft crust to a thick and crunchy one, but it left the crust heavily blistered. The crumb was terrible. I think I need a much longer proofing time.

Some very bright white sky today meant some very high contrast shots.

Any guesses which building this is? (may be more obvious than the mystery I think it is...)

This version of my week planner is designed for two family members (each member has its own row) - half of charm pack is needed to make it (for colorful parts) plus fabric for white sashing, fabrics for back and binding.

In version for four family members one charm pack is needed (for colorful parts) plus fabric for white sashing, fabrics for backing and binding.

It can be also used at the office.

Corners of each square are pockets to put there cards with plan for each day of the week or another information. These corners were made from 1/4 of charms and they are sewn between the rows.

Buckle is used to indicate day of the week. When the day changes, buckle is moved to another.

Depending on weight of the buckle (mine is quite heavy) buttons for secure the strip are needed.

Machine quilted (cotton batting was used) and machine bound.

This week’s theme for my 52 project is “Food.” I was originally trying to think of something elaborate to photograph for the theme. I ultimately ended up going with simple macro shots. This is my alternate — sliced tomatoes. I cut these up to make a sandwich, but took pictures of them first. This shot was taken with natural light.

A little slice of sunshine

Ares, FR. Just before sunset, 100 m into bay and 20 m altitude. Notice the slices in the sand...represents how many tides and where the boat has settled at low.
