A slice of rock bought from the coast

Sunset Park Brooklyn, NYC

Created for TMI's challenge "Those Amazing Animals … focus on SWIMMERS.

I finally got around to processing my own E6, and this roll of Ektachrome E100 SW came out quite good. It has probably been twenty years since I last shot slide film, and I forgot how much I used to like this film even tho Fuji Velvia was my usual go to film (after Kodachrome no longer existed.)

I do want to go back to this scene one sunny morning with my Leica M9 and see how that sensor renders the color and saturation. My experience with that camera so far is that is can produce a slide film like feel.

Oh, and have you seen the film prices lately? The Ektachrome E100 is $22 a roll, and Velvia is $34 a roll! YIKES!

“Hope Is The Thing With Feathers”

by Emily Dickinson.

‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers —

That perches in the soul

And sings the tune without the words

And never stops — at all

And sweetest — in the Gale — is heard

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm

I’ve heard it in the chillest land

And on the strangest Sea

Yet, never, in Extremity,

It asked a crumb — of Me.

It's maddening, really, when I can't make something look as stunning as I want. Not that I'm a total perfectionist, but I have a way I want things to be, and sometimes, SL just can't give me that. Like doing this gorgeous dress justice. Just can't capture how AMAZING it is. So much sparkle. SO much.

My husband likes cheesecake. It's one of the only sweet treats that he likes. I don't like cheesecake. In the 42 years we've known each other, this is the first time that I've made him a cheesecake. He's put individual slices in the freezer. Every morning he puts one out on the counter to thaw. I had to draw fast, his afternoon treat-time is nigh. Inktober2019. Day 5
