Seen by the side of the trail. The teeth are on the top right and left sides, and a heart shape is in the middle! Happy Halloween!

Con mi Hermana ♥

With a skull atop my hat and wearing a silver skull ring I had made about 45 years ago (based on the one Keith Richards wears) I am ready for all manner of things.

Or #mycrow perhaps. This is the skull of a jackdaw. Isn't it amazing what wives can find to indulge their husbands' hobbies?

The photo was taken in a dark room, the skull supported on a large glass jar and uplit from within by a mini maglite with a coloured filter added. I've included some of the jar to avoid the skull appearing magically suspended in mid air and to include some reflection.

We took the dogs for a walk in Ethie woods and discovered this Roe deer skull lodged in the fork of a tree. Which made me think someone had posed it there to collect later. So I was good and photographed it and put it back. But if its still there next time - finders keepers!

If you know me, you know that it would not be entirely unthinkable that I created this photo for the sole purpose of using the title, "Skull Bubbles." Then again, if you know me, you know I'd use that title regardless of the photo. The photo could be of a koala bear eating a tulip, or a handful of applesauce, and I'd still call it "Skull Bubbles."

I actually took this picture because, well, I was f**king around with bubbles. That's it. Just seeing what kind of shots I could get by snapping snaps of soap bubbles. They're great little windows in the way that waterdrops are windows, so it seemed a curious experiment.

I thought I'd do a bit of experimenting while the thunderstorms hit us the other day.

I pulled out some Halloween decorations and decided to have some fun.

I slowly twisted the camera on the tripod during the exposure.

The snake skull is a highly evolved complex structure which is characterised by mobility, flexibility, and a greatly reduced number of bones.

All reptiles, with the exception of turtles, have what is commonly referred to as Diapsid skulls. These skulls are easily identifiable by the two temporal fossae (openings) on either side of the skull.

The term "diapsid" is derived from the latin word "Di" meaning two, and Greek words "hapsis" or "hapsid" meaning "arch" or "loop".

These temporal openings greatly reduce the overall weight of the skull and allows greater mobility of the skull.

Gotta give a shoutout to BeardlyDesigns for the inner mechanics of that torso.

Somewhere in the Caribean, where no one dare wanders, surrounded by treachous reefs, there was a giant skull laying just above the water surface. No one knows where it cames from, or who carved it... or if someone actually carved it...

The place was reputed to be doomed and haunted, and just seeing its shape over the horizon was believed to bring bad fortune. So ships made great detours to completely avoid this part of the see.

But one dared to come to the Skull Island, he dared to step on the white surface and look into the skull's eyes... And what he saw was gold...

This was the legend of the Skull Island. The once feared giant skull is now a prolific gold mine, and someone became the richest pirate the world ever known...

So this is a Moc I made in summer 2018 for Brick66 pirate collab. Didn't have the time to take good pictures of it before today. It was really refreshing to build it, even if I struggled to get the right parts as rocks and woods aren't what I'm used to build.

An ancient entity reborn through the Skull Grinder's power, gifted with magic rivaling that which brought him to life. Now, in absence of the Skull Grinder and the heroes at ease, the Skull Mancer is raising his own armies of the undead to reclaim Okoto for himself...

Ever since I saw the latest wave of Ninjago, I've been wanting to build a skull villain with the ghosts' color scheme. And now that I have some dark blue CCBS and plenty of yellowish green, I built the Mancer. Though overall a simple build, that torso has some crazy angles and was a pain to figure out. Maybe I'll post a skeleton shot sometime.

Today the Hereios of the We're Here! group are shooting skulls. Well, here's a double dose.

History:

The Skull is the result of a sickened mind and a very damaged man. He was once a member of the League of Heroes, a paragon of justice. He fought crime as the dark and brooding Gothic. A skull faced hero who struck fear into the hearts of criminals. However, over time he began to resent the popularity of his teammates, and their "goody-goody" attitude toward the villains who they repeatedly had to catch with alarming frequency. Gothic began pushing the league to adopt more drastic measures when dealing with criminals, most notably to use excessive and deadly force against them. The league was horrified by this, and began to isolate Gothic from the team, pushing him even farther to the fringes. His only steadfast friend was the Crimson Cloak, and the two continued to fight crime on the streets. Soon the day came where the league decided it best to reveal their true identities to the public, as an act of good faith. Gothic vehemently opposed this measure, as did his friend the Cloak, though for very different reasons. Gothic had become so wrapped up in his alter ego that he could not fathom going back to his former life. He had also become tempted by the sheer seduction of violence. He loved beating up the bad guys, and he knew that revealing his true identity would jeopardize his addiction to this lifestyle. As a result, Gothic decided to make a statement. He blew up the league. Publicly, in an act of terror that would irreversibly damage the reputation of masked vigilantes everywhere. "If they could not protect one of their own, how can they protect the public?" This became the thought that pervaded the populace. With the League of Heroes disbanded, and Gothic irreversibly pushed over the edge, he took on a darker persona; that of The Skull, the worst crime boss in all of the city, and the arch nemesis to his former colleague The Crimson Cloak.
