Not entirely sure what Peter's latest adventure is all about - I THINK he is making skull out of copper plates, using his friend Mr Bones as a template....Anyroad....he is cutting up bits of copper pipe and stitching them together, and Mr Bones seems happy enough - he is smiling....
Do yoy see a skull 💀?
Memories of the summer trip to Iceland in 2021.
One of the days I visited the Fagradalsfjall volcano, it shut down while I was there, at that time it could be active for several hours a day and then shut down for hours as well.
While the volcano was giving its last breaths of the day the image seen with the drone from the heights reminded me of a skull, don't you think ?

The Skull Rock Nature Loop passes through a maze of spectacular rock formations and luxuriant washes. Rock in this area began as liquid molten deep below the earth's surface. Continuously heated by movements in the Earth's crust, this molten oozed upward and cooled while still below the surface. Subsequent surface layer erosion exposed the rock, a form of granite called Monzogranite.
This nature loop offers excellent views of the east valley of Pinto Basin and sport some diverse vegetation and wildlife provided by the many standing pools of water in the recesses of the rock formations.
Thanks for looking and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are much appreciated!! Have a great week/weekend everyone :)

The Photo Forum's b/w challenge this fortnight is 'Only Negatives.'
This sugar skull planter is a sort of aqua blue. Just creating an inverse of the color photo created a horribly blown out skull.
After much trial and error I ended up using a darks luminosity channel (Darks 3 if you know Tony Kuyper's terminology) as a layer over the color background.
But some parts were pure black.
So over that I have a layer into which I applied an inverse of the color background's Red channel. That was masked out and then selective parts were painted back in.
My Flickr friend Karen commented HMBT so I guess I should post this to the group!
Happy Monochrome Bokeh Thursday!
Yesterday I saw the absolutely amazing Skull Chaser done in 3D and then printed and painted by vingtc3nt
The original art is from the awesome Jake Parker and I know a lot of you guys know his work.
So basically this was my inspiration to put together this fellow. I'm pretty happy how he turned out, probably the part I like the most is that he can stand on his own, supported just by his 2 thin legs. And also speeders!!!
Psalm 7:16 “The trouble he planned will return on his own head, and his violence will descend on his skull.”

I apologize for my absence online. I've been dealing with a lot of personal stuff lately and have missed roughly three weeks of school so far. It's been tough, but I'm starting to get better. Thank you everyone who has helped me. I really love all of you online folk. haha :)
This isn't in my sketchbook, but I'm posting it to sketch-a-day anyway since I gave it the time and attention I could have - theoretically - put into my book. It's graphite on paper - about 18" x 24".
Blogged here.

I walked to Burwash yesterday afternoon-about a 40 minute walk there and 40 minutes back across the valley. Came across two sheep's skulls on the way. Felt a bit somber in the fading light...
Skull display. At the Farmyard party bike rally held at Duncombe park Helmsley North Yorkshire 20th June 2009.
Never mind more dinosaur footprints being found on Skye, we found Skull Island.
Very difficult to find and very difficult to get to, you basically have to go to Neist Point and then turn 120 degrees to the left :-)

A skull.
Fleshless, cracked
And empty.
Its vacant eyes
Starring
Into the future...
A future that never came.
It, just there
Unable to think
About what could have been
Or to reminisce and remember
A skull,
Just sitting there.
Once filled with a brain
Full of ideas and memories,
Now empty.
Left to sit there on the table
As if it were a paperweight,
Or a centerpiece.
