I got a bit carried away building this. Initially, I was going to try and make a slavish recreation of the actual Alien design, but I got carried away and started making it a bit peacock-y while following the basic silhouette. It absolutely fails at being a Xenomorph, but it makes for a fine desk piece. Plus, this, my Skull Lancer, and Skull Slicer fill out the need to use at least one of each generic Skull Spider masks for display.

Almost like an ore deposit, skulls have been lined up amid leg bones.

Another day playing at home,I need more storey in the sene.

I photographed this woodpecker skull on the windowsill in my studio. It was given to me by a friend after he found it under a hedge. It is quite unusual to find the mandible (lower jaw bone) in tact. I have a collection of skulls of rabbits and small birds found on my walks and those are the blurred shapes you can see in the background.

This skull is from Butser Ancient Farm a replica Iron Age settlement in Hampshire. When a house was built by a community they feasted on an animal and its skull was put over the doorway to honour it and probably bring good luck or was it to warn away evil?

The morning that I left, I walked around the South Station area of Cambridge.

St Leonard’s Church has the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient human skulls and bones in Britain. The collection consists of shelves in four arched bays that contain 1,000 skulls in total, and a single stack of bones and skulls measuring 7.5m in length, 1.8m in width and just over 1.8m in height. The stack of bones was reassembled on its brick base in 1910.
